Hi! I've really enjoyed your channel. I'm in the process of becoming a massage therapist and I find it so useful to get a glimpse of what you do. I've got one question: Where do you wash and dry your sheets and blankets? At work/home? Do you use a tumble dryer? Thank you for sharing!😘

Hello! So glad to meet you here in this little corner of the internet! I’m thankful you stumbled across my channel and I’m especially glad that you’re finding the videos helpful! As for washing my linens- I do a combination of washing them at home and at a local laundromat. I don’t have a washer or dryer at my actual office so that’s unfortunately not an option for me. (Although I have strongly considered getting a set and having them in my closet there because I do have the space- and they just began charging me a utility fee after I moved back into my renovated space so I’m thinking it’d be nice to get more for my $!) However for now my system is to bring sheets home at the end of each day and wash them and bring back the next day when I go into work. I’m only doing about 11-12 appointments a week at this point so it’s not much added to my household workload. I find that washing three sets of sheets at a time is most efficient and then I do use a tumble dryer, on low heat and they are done in about 25 minutes. I wash blankets separately usually 3-4 per load and they don’t take quite as long to dry maybe 15-20 mins. I do use a dryer ball which helps them dry faster and more evenly! Sometimes I’ll take a whole bunch of sheets and blankets to the laundromat (if they sit unused in the closet a long time they get kind of stagnant smelling) and do them all at once because it’s quicker. Then I write the cost off for taxes, of course. I hope that’s helpful! Wishing you all the best in your studies and as you begin your new career!

@@AMothersNature Wow! Thank you so much for taking your time to respond to my question. Sheets definitely add a little bit to the workload and you do need to be organised to have them ready to go. Btw Have oils ever stained them permanently?

@@luckycat3347 I have had some issues with grape seed oil making them smell very musty- especially if the sheets sit overnight and don’t get washed right away. I use coconut oil for the most part and it doesn’t cause any issues for me. Darker color sheets can become stained but I just avoid that by using white or very light colors.

It's just an old egg crate mattress from walmart. I wish I could be more helpful to reccommend a specific store in your area! Anywhere that sells bedding and linens and mattress toppers should have them, though!

Hello! So sorry to have taken so long to respond! Sometimes YT is bad about alerting me of comments. I do receive massage and bodywork bi-weekly ( I trade with a friend so we each get one every other week). I would not go much longer without, and also like to do accupuncture and chiropractic to help keep everything balanced. If you don't take care of yourself it will catch up to you quickly! As far as the nails go, for me personally I feel like they make it difficult to do deeper work and not cause pain for the client. I also think they can capture a lot of bacteria and washing underneath them is added work that I don't want to worry about! Just my preference, but I do know other therapists who get acrylics and keep them really short (like "sport" style) and they seem to function just fine!

Do you ever work on people with scoliosis
@AMothersNature
@AMothersNature 6 ай бұрын
I have many times, yes. It’s not much different than working on a person with a typical spinal structure- only that I may work more on the erectors and they often have a lot of lower back/gluteal/IT band tension. I find that it definitely has an effect on hip rotation and pelvic tilt. But truly every body is different in one way or another- so it’s really just a matter of becoming familiar with what each client needs during that particular session.

Where’s the best place to advertise
@AMothersNature
@AMothersNature Жыл бұрын
I honestly had great luck advertising on Facebook Marketplace and my local for sale/wanted/free groups on facebook. I have never paid for any advertisments. I have a whole video about how I built my business- but the one tip I'll share here is to buy a portable massage chair and use that to advertise. Contact local people doing health fairs, employee appreciation events, tenant appreciation events, or just local beauty shops/hair salons etc and ask them if you can bring your chair and give free 10-15 min massages and hand out your business card. After you get a few people in your door/on your table to best form of advertisment is word of mouth.
