Such a fun video! Absolutely loved seeing the little rat. I had 2 rats as my first pets and I was totally sold after. I've had 13 rats in total but I decided to stop keeping them because their short lifespan was so hard to deal with. That's when I started researching about keeping parrots and how I found your KZbin channel.

Rats are absolutely amazing and so so smart! The short lifespan is what puts me off having them as pets personally!

@@BirdNerdSophie they sure are! I loved teaching them tricks and everyone was always so surprised when they saw it. A lot of people don't realise how great they are! But yeah the short lifespan and the loooong list of common illnesses are hard to deal with. Unfortunately I lost my first girl to a tumor. Her sister was so sad after

awesome video! I like almost every animal but I think, I could not work as a zookeeper. Preparing food is no problem as long as it's just vegetables or fruits or something but some animals such as meerkats are little predators. I could never kill a mouse or any other animal even if it's for food. I know, that's life. And I would suffer with any animal that gets sick or even dies. Working with animals is both wonderful and horrible.

Zoo keeping is not for the faint hearted, but it’s a very rewarding job! All of our meat comes in frozen so no issues there! But it’s definitely hard if an animal is unwell or we have to say goodbye to them!

Is being a zookeeper something you can do with a high school diploma, or does it need extra college or university degrees? Is it like an entry level position? How much experience do you need to be able to do that? This looks really fun and interesting! It seems like a great way to learn about the husbandry of so many different types of animals!

Most zoo keeping jobs will require a college qualification and/or university degree, plus experience! I volunteered a couple of days a week for 4 years alongside education to gain experience! It’s an awesome job but can be tough, especially working in all weathers and during the holidays! There are often lots and lots of people applying for one single job so people have to go the extra mile to stand out 😊
