I've been a Paramedic for more than 20 years now and can handle blood, guts, puke and projectile vomiting without fail. The one thing that continues to make me queasy all these years later is when you guys show up. Any time you need a hardware store to fix a patient that is the one thing that will make me reach for the pepto-bismol or Dramamine. More power to you for being able to handle that job.

I have much love and respect for orthopedic surgeons. I was born with cerebral palsy, had it not been for an orthopedic surgeon I would not be able to walk or do any of my daily activities. He also inspired me to go into medicine myself. I have been a paramedic for 24 years now. Dr. Hanes Brindley Jr, wherever you are I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ve never understood 24 hour on call shifts. Doctors always say that pulling all nighters is extremely unhealthy and you become less efficient and less accurate when you’re sleep deprived, yet makes surgeons and specialists pull all nighters regularly (I imagine)
@naomiseashell55284 жыл бұрын
I’m not 100% sure but I think that when they are on 24 hour call shifts, they have naps when they aren’t on ‘call’... Again, not 100% sure but I think they also have rooms they stay in if they are working long shifts so that they can’ sleep but can also get called in when they are needed...
@RoboticNarwhals4 жыл бұрын

OK I am a surgical nurse student and you are not supposed to scrub an area on your hand that you already scrubbed. Start with the fingernails with the Bristles, then use the brush side on your fingers, palm, sides, and back of the hand. Then move down your forearm. And rinse in one fluid motion from the fingertips to the elbow, with the hand angled up so the water rinses down. Never point your hands down so the water rinses to the fingertips. If you scrub wrong, a nurse will see you and yell at you lol😂😂

So surreal to hear him describe the femur fracture nonchalantly-like holy shit, you’re going to open a body a fix bone. It makes me so nervous to think about doing that (because I have no surgical training). I guess I’m saying this is so impressive, it’s surreal

I liked your video. In some families everyone is a lawyer, plumber, auto tech. In one side of my family most are orthopedic surgeons. It started hundreds of years ago as bone setters. Eventually as med school became available, family members attended it. It must be a good feeling to help someone feel better. I admire what you do.

I have such respect for this young man and his profession. Way back in 1980, I was involved in a really bad automobile crash, that resulted in a broken hip, broken ankle, four broken ribs, broken nose and cracked eye socket. My life was saved by an Orthopedic Surgeon. I'm so thankful, I can never repay this action. Thanks so much!

As a surgical Technologist, I like to think I’m nurturing the future so I treat these young aspiring Doctors with respect and I like to make them feel comfortable and encourage their practice. I feel this way because I am a human being first and so are they. I have children of my own and I know that these young residents are someone’s child and I want for them the same as their parents do. They work long and hard hours (as they should) to become Doctors. But they are people too so I treat all Residents, Med students, & even Fellows like my own children. I don’t look down on them or demean them in any way. I just want to teach them the right way to conduct themselves in an operating room setting with proper sterile techniques as well as interacting with their team. I don’t want to create cocky, rude, incompetent assholes to perforate the medical world. I want there to be a competent, fluid medical workforce. So join me and help teach the future the right way!

If they would’ve said “ women we could do it to” no one would’ve complained . Yes black people can do it too! It’s okay for us to be excited seeing our people do great things . If it offends you so be it . We need role models as well . Someone WE can relate to and race is something we relate to. A role model is someone we can relate to. No need to silence people for their excitement
