I think the reason my daughter would sleep until 6 am is because I would dream feed her at 11:45. I really figured that it was either feed her at 11:45 and then sleep through the night or do it at 1:30. I liked the sound of sleep.

Riley had a bit of a struggle being quiet in her room. I hope the clothes in her closet with the tags still on them do not have to be given away unworn by her. Oh, she is normal. Some kids get a bit fixated on their navels for awhile. It happens. You'll have to let us know how those diapers work for her. Why did you get Jackson when he wasn't struggling to escape the swaddle or crying? Are you certain he would not learn to self-soothe back to sleep for a longer nap? It is worth a king's ransom to see that little smile when babies awaken. Do not allow Riley in your bedroom drawers or put locks on them, if you wish to keep things like boardgame components for adults to be able to use. Oh, how cute that Riley sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in adagio, the way Barbra Streisand sang "Happy Days Are Here Again." Good job, Riley. So cute to see the photos of you and Joe when little ones. The socks that stop at the ankle are golf socks. Ankle socks are the thinner ones that go up near the calf and then get folded over to the ankle, like little girls wear with their Mary Jane shoes. Good to know trash bags are still available on Amazon. Riley's snack mix looks pretty addictive. I like mixtures like that, too. Good to know Gerber has the sleepers with zippers instead of snaps. There are several of the Seventh Generation products that I like, but had never tried the wipes. Thanks for the info. Oh no, Oh no! Is that what Riley says? You gave her mint chocolate chip ice cream. My favorite. Now I am jonesing for it. LOL. Salt & pepper hair means mixed dark and light grey or white, as though there were particles or strips of salt and pepper in it. So Joe's is still that way. Good that Riley is learning to eat with you all as family at table without the distractions of other people doing other things or screen time. Screen time extends meal ordeals because children tend to watch the screen instead of eating, so trying to get the meal over with goes on forever. This makes life impossible when they have school, homework and other obligations. Plus screen time later in the day has been shown to make them more irascible. Listening to music and talking to her will begin to teach her that meal time is for people and not to ignore people. Did she ever eat her ice cream? One advantage to having eaten it on the deck might have been that it would not have melted as fast. Don't buy trouble. Joe may not get back to the office as quickly as he thinks. This virus is going nowhere anytime soon and the people who need the office space and equipment to do their work will be the ones who are sure to go back soonest. Hooray for Jackson doing the front to back rollover the other day. There was an SNL skit eons ago with Gilda Radner and I forget the man in it because I saw a clip of it in a retrospective of her work. They were a happily married couple enjoying Sunday supper in the early evening. You could tell from the way they were and what they said that they were happy with a good life. At the end of supper, he offered to clean-up and she said something like, "Oh good, I am going to go kill myself now." You had to see the entire skit, but the point was one every woman running a home understood: no matter how good things are she was still not done all the things she had had on her list to do and now there was no hope of getting them done before the workweek/schoolweek started. That constant pressure of the TO DO list in our heads that seems to be tattooed on our brain synapses or somewhere that affects all other thoughts. If you got everything you wanted to get done or thought you needed to get done on a regular basis, we would think you were the cruelest of liars or we would send the shrinks to study you and see how this was possible. We all have our victories, but they are fleeting. Love the 9-mo. blue jumper Jackson has for summer that you showed us hanging in his closet. It's to cute. Not to say nothing else matters, but the kids are alive, the house is standing, you and Joe are still working and living way more normally in the pandemic era than most. You are doing OK.
