My children have problems with constipation starting at 3 months. As infants, I give them prune juice in a medicine droppler. When they are old enough for sippy cups, I put it in there. Mommy's Bliss constipation ease works also

When my daughter would have trouble and go 4 or 5 days without pooping our doctor said we could try a little bit of prune juice in a bottle or gently use a q tip with some vaseline like the windi. Each time within hours of using the q tips she would explode it was crazy. Hope he gets relief soon!!

I knew we hadn't seen a poop vigil lately. Have you ever done the massages and leg bicycling with him? Look at the tutorials on KZbin for belly massages to help him poop. There is a specific circular pressing direction in which it helps move the waste out of him. It needs to be clockwise only using the pads of your fingertips in a circular motion while holding his ankles and feet together then pushing his knees up toward his belly gently. And it must be repeated a few times. This is separate from the bicycling exercise. Ask the doctor what you can give him, if anything. He is so young and I have no clue when even something natural, like a bit of prune juice, would be alright. On the other hand, I believe there is prune baby food. I'll bet he can have that and you could give it to him as a bit of semi-solid food daily, if the doctor says it's OK. If they said you could give him a bit of rice cereal, then maybe that would be fine, too. He'd have to sit up to eat it, again with his body utilizing gravity. He isn't even 4 months yet, so it's a bit too early for a jumper, isn't it? I am concerned as to why this is so difficult and how long into his life this will last because he could now begin to develop habits around it. Like if they cannot see well and start to compensate quite young for not being able to do so. He is such a cutie, but no wonder he cannot lie flat for any length of time. How much does his nap time, nighttime sleep problem have to do with it being uncomfortable for him to be prone? I thought you always saved Riley's food for later snacks since she, and many kids this age, need them every half hour it seems. Some children, too, are a bit more grazers than others, which is a challenge for making sure their overall intake includes all food groups. You are right that food should never be wasted, but people all over the country cannot even get fruit, veg, chicken, toilet paper. So your supply chain seems OK where you are. That's good. You are so right. We must meal plan based upon the expiry of the food stuffs we have. If bananas start to brown, bake banana bread. I love banana bread and bananas hardly ever last long enough for me to bake it. LOL. There will be rabbits in the yard and squirrels around the larger trees. You will love the nature there for your children. Does your yard have any trees in it? The blooms on the deciduous trees there will be a lighter version of the vibrant color they will turn in the fall. Soon it will be like living in a lush garden, if you have any flora in your yard. I was taught that chipped nail polish is a bad grooming issue, so I feel sloppy and improperly groomed with chips. LOL. Passover is April 8th and Easter is April 12th, much less than a month from March 20th. As long as you have photos of these events in Jackson's life, he will not remember or care what size the celebration was. Palm Sunday is this coming Sunday, so the beginning of Holy Week. If she's going to play with water in the house, can't you get one of those picnic cloths for Riley to have under her? You know the things that can be wiped clean on the plastic surface and are a felt underneath to stay in place on the grass while you have a picnic lunch. Oh Lordy, there will be a whole new national medical issue: women everywhere will get hemorrhoids from trying to help Jackson push out a poop and they'll contact trace the problem back to your vlogs. LOL. I am sitting here pushing with you because I feel so badly for him. It has to hurt.

My 14 weeks baby poops every time after sitting on the Babybjorn bouncer, he used to poop once a week, it probably because he moves his legs constantly on the bouncer which is helping the bowel movement. My doctor told me not to feed him the probiotics because it will cause constipation.

Ask your pediatrician about miralax. My first pediatrician suggested suppositories which were so uncomfortable for my baby. The miralax worked as suggested by my second pediatrician. It does not have the possible side effects or glycerin suppositories. My baby is no longer using anything and is normalized. She has gone 7 days too... Very uncomfortable. :(

My son had a few days of not pooping, he was pushing so hard his little body shook and he just cried. My pediatrician said I could give him apple juice diluted with water to help. It did help within a few hours. They can't handle the sugar in the juice yet so it gives them a little bit of diarrhea. But he was so constipated that he just pooped regular afterward. I hope this helps. Poor little guy.

Your son is only 3 months old. Constipation is super uncommon at that age, especially since you are breastmilk exclusive. Usually unless they are in a lot of pain, they don't need to poop. Unless he is in a ton of pain, I would just talk to the doctor and check, and maybe use gripe water.

This is going to sound crazy. My cousins daughter had pooping problems and nothing worked over the counter. Her doctor had her get a syringe, water and dawn dish soap. You will put water and a small drop of dish soap in there. Use some petroleum jelly on the tip and stick it up his but slowly pushing the liquid in. (Be ready for a mess). That should help clear out all that poop. It works immediately.
