This seems like a consequence of the live broadcast. Skyler played a tight safety but since he came a the 2 off two rails, there was no rail-contact after he hit the 2, so Josh got ball-in-hand. While they're showing the foul in slow motion for clarification, Filler plays an immediate safety, gluing the cueball to a blocker, and plays the 9 because he can afford to miss. The camera cut back just in time, but it wasn't a full-aggression shot.

totally overthought that shot, you could tell the nine was playing in his head. At first, he was like let me draw it back with bottom left which would be the normal thing to do. But because he had missed a layup prior he decided to slow roll and make the nine in the side, and totally butchered it.
