I have over 1,400 miles on the AT and I’ve yet to see a bear! Figures that the “The Two Bears” will see one in a week. Awesome!

I've got 2,600 + , all between Amicalola and Harper's over 5 starts and never seen a bear. In '17 there was a decent amount of wildlife. By '21, the increase in hiker traffic had easily doubled and wildlife didn't like that, so they avoid us.

Moma Bear in the morning during your first climb I thought there’s a person who is tired, like a lack of sleep but then when you showed us the multiple waterfalls you came to life. I took it that you were just waking up to the day. Little Bear or maybe, Purple Bear, you are still enjoying the hike and it’s interesting to hear thoughts of what see along the trail like , ‘Mom look, we could take shower underneath this waterfall!’. You both are so real with your thoughts and appreciate taking the time to interact with fellow hikers. Enjoy your time at the hostel and don’t worry about the uploading of the videos. You should report that bear to the nearest forest ranger. He has mange and it could be painful or itchy. The rangers can easily treat him in a few days. Mange is contagious and can be transferred to humans. If you see baby bears . . . KEEP MOVING! If you see them, mamma sees you.

0:56 I highly recommend some sort of pee bottle so that you don’t have to get out of your tent the very first thing in the morning I have found this to be a lifesaver

last video, they were eating dinner in their tent..thats sort of concerning….but seems everyone cools at the shelters, so not much difference…to be safe you are supposed to eat a fair distance from camp..

Hey Mama Bear & Little Bear, meet you on Ramdino's Foothills Trail hike, (Cloud AT2023). Awesome you guys saw a bear already, I didn't see a bear till I got to New Jersey. One of my favorite things to pack out was sandwiches. Bagel thins make great bread. I had a smaller odor proof bag that fit several in at once. Also while its cold you can pack out bagwls and cream cheese. I liked adding pepperoni to them. Finding the food that works for you is half the battle lol

Love your videos💖 I'm glad you're able to experience and enjoy this together. Just be careful with a mother bear and cubs. They're like any mother and can be more aggressive. One growled and ran towards my husband while he was out walking one time but he realized that it had 3 young cubs. Thanks for stopping to check the water falls and rock formations. Ugh, what a way to start the day 🤢. And that is why noro hit the AT early this year. "Dirty" toilet paper has been littering the trail, people aren't digging cat holes and just doing their business 💩 wherever in the forest. LNT is not a thing with the some of the AT Class of 2024. It's disheartening to think this level of entitlement has reached the hiking community ☹️. Cool bear siting. Happy trekking. 🥾 ETA If you can find them, Next Mile Meals aren't pasta/rice/potato based. Geared toward the keto community but perfect for anyone who isn't into all the pasta based dehydrated meals. Not easy to find at outfitters on trail but can be ordered online and sent to an Amazon pickup location. I've never cared much for Mountain House and that's the brand that's the easiest to find 😂.

Wow! What a great bear sighting! I wonder if he/she was startled by the hikers and just stayed up there for that reason. Looked kinda in shock or just sleepy lol. And so sorry you had to start your day like that..grr. Our very 1st night ever on the AT in '19 i stepped in poo and saw a feminine product at camp. I almost threw in the towel.
