Hope you can answer my question: how do you enter there? where's the door or ticket office? I'm checking everywhere and can't find a thing. Thanks

I wish I could share a photo in the comments however here is a link to a website that has the photo I would like to share www.jeffbondono.com/TouristInRome/VillaDEste.html . At the top of the website there are two photos, the one on the left is of a church. To the right of the entrance to the church is a door. That is the door into where you can buy tickets and then enter the courtyard to the residence. Hope this helps.

Oh I hear you. We couldn't find the entrance either and had to ask locals. If anyone else is reading this its just a plain door in a corner and doesn't look like its the right place. Check its open the day you visit.
