Great episode. Former Lumberjack football player here... had some good times in East Texas. Heath is a great guy and has a hell of a restaurant!

My hometown. My daughter was married in the Church at Millard's Crossing. When I was a kid the Fredonia Hotel was closed down; it's good to see it's been thriving for many years now.

Time to visit Hemphill. Not much there but it does have the Space Shuttle Columbia memorial and the Patricia Huffman Smith NASA museum. Love your videos. Thanks for visiting the small towns and giving background history of them and also the modern attractions. You did forget to mention that Clint Dempsey is from Nacogdoches.

SFA is now a very, liberal, Communist, WOKE university that is part of the Commie University of Texas system thanks to Gov. Abbott. So unless you want a morally bankrupt and propaganda brainwashing lack of education, then I'd find somewhere else to go to college. The Fredonia Hotel lobby used to be beautiful and classy, but now it's mid-century modern atmosphere just doesn't have the appeal it used to have. The restaurant is very expensive and having fried shrimp rolled in corn meal and weird sides just doesn't work. If you want really good seafood, steaks, and the best onion rings you've ever put in your mouth, then go to Clear Springs Restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Totally disagree, as someone born in Nacogdoches and a current student, Stephen F. Austin is great and actually had a Republican Congressman deliver the graduation ceremony today. The hotel is better than ever, great food and hosts the Texas Lone Star Legislative Summit every session.
