Sofie StayGold I really got a lot out of the networking approach when Vince points out how to keep it organic and let your passion be the vocal point of the conversation. I watched a Pope the barber video last night and she mentions energy is important to her, I guess that’s the message the universe is trying to teach me this weekend!!

Rad!! Energy is HUGE. When it's right, you can almost feel it come off someone before they even speak. Energy becomes clear when people can understand themselves and why they do what they do. its like going to the gym and just another day working out, but its a different session when you go in there with the intention to connect your movements to your mind. Now when you think of that..you get a different experience, better results.

Love that you guys look for talent on instagram vs followers, so many talented people don’t get as much recognition as they should because they don’t have a large following. So refreshing! 👍🏻😊

Exactly Westley! Followers help in some cases, but not always. Can’t teach work ethic and good character, which i believe many shop owners look for. Skills are teachable and always come with time. 🙏🏽❤️

Ahhh it's so great to hear two humble Barbers who genuinely love the craft and want to share the knowledge. Speed. We live in a fast paced world where people expect top quality in half the time. This is a pressure I feel for sure. Thank you both for sharing! Those bags are 🙌

I love art and want to make a difference in peoples life so what better way to master the art of a barber and giving great confidence to clients when they leave the chair. I was looking for a nicer bag that would provide the right protection for my clippers. I couldn’t keep the clippers in the bathroom any longer. Now that I invested on the right machines, do my own hair, and probably pursue to become a barber i got the Sidekick. Nothing too big to keep the things I do for myself (too fancy for a toiletries bag 😅). It’s good i found this video, i love the bag and will definitely get the bigger one as soon as i start cutting hair regularly. I love your content, thank you for all you do!

I've been doing this for 20 years 4 my cousin are barbers dope barbers old school that shine ur shoe area I'm 40 and hes so right everything he said true and the state of georgia makes u apprentice for a year I feel like everybody that gets out of hair school barber school yes you need to apprentice whether it's 6 months or a year because these schools ain't teaching you enough that when you graduate you're just that good that you can just take on anybody noooooo I did apprenticeship and damn sure needed it

Yea totally. School teaches the basics. I can’t imagine they actually prepare people the skill sets they need when they start working. The true learning is in the day to day practice and how people think when they’re working 💪🏼

I really like the part in this video when you talk about how to act when cutting celebrity's and how they just want to relax and enjoy them self. I always said if stephen curry or klay thompson tried to do a walk in and get a head of one of my clients I wouldn't let that happen. Two reasons. 1st my clints booked an appointment and they have been supporting me so I'm not about to loose a day one client for some quick cash. 2nd I hope it would make them see im trying to show them the respect of there privacy and injoy them self by getting cleaned up and feel relaxed! I said those to ppl because those are two people I would love to have a chance to cut.

Glad u enjoyed that part! It’s def important to make all the guest comfortable and it’s gona be different for each celeb. I’ve had managers tell me before not to ask artist questions or talk too much lol i would say be adaptable and treat everyone with respect and like normal people whatever level they are and you’ll be good ! 🙌🏼❤️

If your day 1 client can’t understand why you need to cut Steph Curry before them. They’re NOT your day 1. My day 1 clients would give up their spot with ease just because they know what that specific haircut would do for me

@@ATrippyLENZ I think you missed the point. Everyone is a super start in my shop. And everyone deserves to feel like that. And steph probably wants to chill and not get run up on all the time. You need to treat people as people not what title they hold. Now if thats not what steph wants then he can book some other time or he's just not the clint for me. That all im saying!
