When a representative is not doing the bidding of the electorate they should feel the wrath of the electorate. This helpless situation where we say "they will be voted out in the next election" is just pathetic. How about they be recalled immediately and shown the door? If citizens can just recall their representative immediately and call for a by election then there will be some manners in our representatives.

It is just a matter of getting to the point where a representative understands that they are not in parliament to give their personal view and decisions on issues. Rather their duty is to seek to know their electorates view on issues and champion it in a representative capacity. An immediate recall will put a stop to one more thing, this thing of people spending a lot in campaigns knowing they will have 5 years to recover their money. If they know their time in government is dependent upon how well they represent the people they will not spend as much as they do.

and to Deputy Speaker Gladys, increasing tax/duty on what is produced already like Fish is to protect local farmer, but increase tax on steel and cement will only increase cost of construction which will hurt President agenda to build mass houses. secondly, steel manufacturing takes 5-10 years of investment and need tons of tons of fuel and water. it is not therefore, economical to built a Steel plant in a country with no vast resource of energy and water.
