You may want to really think about get a taller boot. You said that the boots are “standard height “ but Sophia is taller for her age so the standard or average height boot won’t work for her. Yes, the boots will stretch a little, but not that much and tall boots always “drop or fall” at the ankle. This is where you see the wrinkles or waves in the ankle area. This will happen in all tall boots. Some more than others. You can see in the back below Sophia’s back of the knee how the top of the leather doesn’t even come close to the crease at the back of the knee. You want the boot to at least come right up to the crease of the back of the knee. You can see that the leather is pressing into Sophia’s calf and she even said that it hurts. When she gets on a horse picks up her stirrups and puts her entire leg into position, the boots are going to get even tighter and then be more painful. For the comfort of Sophia and the investment of the boots, I would exchange them or return them and get a pair that will help you take correct measurements. There are many more companies out there now that make correctly fitting boots for fuller calves and wide feet. You just have to take the correct measurements in the correct areas of the legs and ADD a couple of inches to the height of the boots to allow for dropping/falling at the ankles. This again, happens because of how our ankles flex and extend and how our legs and feet lay down and around the horse’s barrel and how our feet are positioned and flexed in the stirrups. Hope that helps Sophia. The boots are beautiful but will continue to cause her pain because the top of the back of the boots are far too low and digging in. Sophia will be better off starting over with a taller pair.

I *think* they are the Moretta boots by Shires. They make a wide range of calf sizes. I could be wrong but they look exactly like them!

I feel ya Sophie on the wide feet, I always have to buy wide boots as well! If Sophie gets really into western riding, Ariat makes great WIDE western boots. Merry Christmas you guys!

Wow that surprises me that Ariat do those! Here in the UK all of their English boots are renown for being narrow and slim and not catering to anyone with a shorter and/or wider body type😅

Wow, lucky girl. Love the new boots Sophie, you got so much great stuff. I got a pair of slipper socks from my ex mother in law and tested positive for covid. My kids forgot to get me anything again but they help me out a bit in the house so it's all good.
