Oh, this is so good! I could listen to John tell stories like that all night. In my teenage mind, the Spoonful were in a class by themselves. Their music was a little pocket of joy where each song created a magical music video in my head because the lyrics were so clever, warm, and upbeat, while the melodies stuck in your head like glue. Would love to see them perform live.

How sad that such a wonderful singer like John has lost his voice over the years. However, I can't believe I'm watching him, Joe, and Steve on the same stage after years of not playing together. Joe sings with the current line-up of the band which also includes Steve Boone so a very representative line-up dating back to the sixties. Thank you so much for posting.

Love the performance, I am so glad they are still out there and doing shows, they are a spectacular band. What was up with John saying: "I wanna play with pops"? I don't get it.

that's weird,he didn't tell the story about being inspired to WRITE Daydeam after listening every night to "where did our love go" and trying to reproduce it on ONE guitar (he often mentions "baby love" but i think he really meant the aformentioned song)

But the song did directly inspire a certain Mr McCartney to write a ditty called "Good Day Sunshine". Just play " Daydream " and the Revolver song back to back. You'll hear (and feel) the connection.

Yup. Sebastian's covering for the fact he can barely sing anymore. I still enjoy what he does, but a six minute introduction to a song that's barely two minutes is a bit much.

I don't mind at all. When it comes to someone who wrote some of the best classic songs of the 60s, I'm all ears. And I thought his story was great.
