Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle - UEVR (First Person 6DOF Motion Controls)

Trying this out again with the full version. Really cool in first person and 6DOF motion controls but a few niggles when doing this.
Firstly even with 3DOF controls and the camera attachment you will need to detach and reattach during some cutscenes. Found when going back to my attachment with a detach and reattach for the first person had to just remember the correct height to quickly get back to where I was.
The game has the same problem as Aliens Fireteam as when using the 'CurrentWeapon' property to attach they seem to named the same so overlap. Although despite this the 6DOF motion and shooting feels great.
Turned on room scale movement, 3DOF aiming. Quite a few times you are in cutscenes and can get pretty motion sickness with any small rotational movement of the controller moving the world.
Found when in first person still getting some world movement like in cutscenes but enough movement to make me uneasy after a longer play through. Tried noSkeletalUpdate but didn't stop it.
Interestingly in the first area as you infiltrate Area 51 both of the weapons when attaching are aligned in the same axis. However in the next section and first combat with the electro zombies, found that the weapons were 90 degrees apart from each other. No problem shooting just looks even more janky as you have to pick whether you want the shotgun or SMG to be at right angles in the middle of your weapon.
Otherwise in first person a number of puzzles I did were completely fine. Just some small interactions and cutaway sections you would want to detach the camera quickly for. Like analysis of objects.
Feels really atmospheric in first person though, especially with the torch. Really nails the 90's Resident Evil aesthetic. Lots of easter eggs pointing at the team behind this doing a dino crisis type inspired game as well.
This and the first game I would recommend wishlisting!

@waifu_enjoyer Thanks for your frequent uploads! Couple questions: 1. is playing "roomscale-only" rotating only in real-life (without using smooth or snap turning) a feasible option with 6dof controls? 2. Speaking of UI, is it possible to decouple UI and have some built-in UEVR setting to make UI float only horizontally, following your gaze with some delay (so it wouldn't always stay in the corner of your sight, but rather just float in whenever you are look in a chosen direction for some time already)? That's the biggest problem with Luke Ross mods I have: I don't use smooth/snap turning (breaks immersion for me), and so quite often UI is just "behind me" if I turn 180 in reality; meanwhile it does get in a way when it always 1 to 1 follows my gaze. I guess some optional click/gesture "show UI" when necessary - would be perfect. Maybe even some "look at your watch" gesture which would trigger UI to appear for 3-5 seconds or something. Of course, it's better to be done by custom mods on per-game basis, but I just wonder what is the out-of-the-box UEVR experience without smooth/snap turns? Thanks!

I bet this looks great with gamma and brightness contrast etc so blacks as close as possible with quest 3

Surprisingly this actually had quite good default black levels. Maybe needs a smidge but very good. Scared to think how good this would be on a big screen 🤩

Hey, thanks for all the work. Can an Unreal third-person game just stick the camera on the character's head and remove or make the character's head see-through, but keep the rest of the body visible? Like in the Resident Evil mods, but with this Unreal injector. I only play REVR mods with a controller, aiming using head movemhanks. Thanks

Depends on what meshes are available in the list to turn off visibility. Does depend on the game. Some have lots listed for every part and clothing piece, others just have the entire pawn.

No sorry not yet this was with a build before release and has issues like the weapons overlapping. Will need to make a new one but been busy with family/work too much to get a chance. Also off to holiday this weekend. You can follow my 6DOF workflow, in this video you can see the property I use to attach. Do the same with the new build and you or someone from the community should be able to replicate this easily.
