There is a BMW bulliten for the fuel pump plausable code. It isn't of any dire repair or fix. You can also check the EKPM module.

I think that fuel pump plausibility fault is pretty common and doesn't cause issues. I want to say mine has had that for the whole time I've owned it - since 2010.

I love these videos bro! Thank you! I feel for you when you're struggling with the car. Talk about a case of "Been there done that"! LOL. But it's not a joke when you're in the thick of it and nothing seems too= make sense or work. By the way those are actually called "Boost Solenoids. The waste gate actually on the turbos and pull the arms to "actuate" the flaps inside. I've put "XHPTuner" on my car which is a transmission app you can get for your phone. It makes it so you can really change those extremely lazy and slow shifts when using the paddles or even in the regular drive modes. It's made a world of difference with the shifting and torque settings. You can do a huge amount of upgrading on the trans with it. Of course now comes the time when you may want to consider your many options. You can put on some serious power if you want and still keep the OEM turbos through going with some Mods. I think you might already have the down pipes?? Not sure but those are VERY awesome upgrade as well as the front intercooler then some E85 (E40 blend or E50 makes a HUGE difference) This is all while using the MHD app to tune your car. Ive gotten to the point where I'm Running a Custom tune from JSRTuning with up graded 17T turbos (I think your New ones might be those same type) When you do (or if? lol) the new Intercooler make sure you get the larger sized 7.5 or even a 7 inch cooler as I learned the more expensive way that once I put the smaller 5 inch intercooler on mine I wished I'd gone bigger when I found myself able to go further with the mods 6 moths later. ROCK ON BRO!! I still recommend checking out the "Zero to 60" channel as Andrew was a HUGE help to me when I watched the videos on his cheap 17T turbo car build. All his mistakes were SO much help! Don't go for the 3.5 T-Map right away as it's not really any help unless you have the bigger turbos on and all the other mods first. LOVE YA MAN!! SAGE is so SWEET! Wow you spoil your chickies! LOL. Long Johns for feed!

Appreciate you Greg! Thanks for all the awesome feedback! Sadly the boost fault has returned... just posted a new upload with tackling the cooling system, and yes you are totally right, i mispoke and called them wastegates but they are indeed just the solenoids. cheers!!!

I had 2009 335 coupe loved it when it was running fine. It was a bit of a nightmare between the waste gates, high pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors. I traded it in before my warranty was up as the two HPFP, the waste gates and three times the injectors were replaced under warranty for a 2011 328 sport wagon needed more practicality. I had the sport wagon for 5 years without one single problem.

Hell yeah Alex!!! Way to go brother, really enjoyed watching this. In hindsight it's so obvious, isn't it? Not building boost - waste gate malfunction. But it's always easy once we know the answer. That's why I think good mechanics are so underrated. Like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes, and some issues it takes a real "Dr. House" to get to the bottom of. Looking forward to the next episode!! Wish I could invite you for a (physical) beer some time, but maybe I'll just join your patreon or something instead. Cheers!!

Stoked for you, great job, man!! I loved and kind of miss my 328, but you're so right, these things ALWAYS need some kind of repairs, and if you can't do the work yourself, it's gonna cost you a grip!

Man that’s awesome! Glad you finally got it figured out. That was such a weird issue to try and track down but you finally got it! Nice work!
@BamaTony736 ай бұрын
Yeah these things can be difficult to diagnose sometimes no matter how good of a mechanic you are lol Glad you got your boost on the 335 fixed. No check engine light with you boosting it several times on the interstate id say yeah you more than likely nailed it there. Good eye on the actuator. My X1 was smoking from the cat and I ordered a new cat and already took the other one off and the gasket looked torched. So the tapping noise I was hearing could be a leak in the cat hence the smoke. Not sure yet. Hoping the new Elring turbo/cat gasket and new cat will fix it.

I genuinely believe my car has the same problems. When you swapped the waste-gate actuators and then it started to smoke. Was it blue smoke? If so is that probably the cause? I think I need to do my waste gate actuators too, I don’t think I need new turbos.
