Honestly the most enjoyment I have had from the game and pretty close but sadly tech issues again. Patches for sure incoming. Microstuttering which you may see here. Tested on 3 machines with 3 drivers. FPS wise its...not always bad in fact many times it is good but it has some issues. That being said..man at times I really had a good time PLEASE SHARE! On my RYZEN 7 1700 GTX 970 G1 GAMING 16 GB DDR4 3200MHZCL15 MP 600 2TB WRITE: 4950 MB/S READl:4250MB/S DELL[2416D 24'' 2560X1440 60 HZ IPS it runs maxed 1440p with 50+ fps average while Horizon zero dawn runs maxed 1440p 31 fps average 39 fps so at least from this i can say it is better optimized. I play all action games so as someone who plays all action gmaes yes i recomend it!

I almost stopped playing after the first 3 or 4 hours. But as soon as I started to get decent upgrades things picked up and I ended up liking it about one third in.

Alls you need for your playthrough is a couple mods.... better knife damage, better crossbow damage, faster bike... just them 3 will make a huge difference in a playthrough, still a great game regardless but for a first timer I'd definitely suggest them 3 tweaks

I've been playing it since release on PC and I haven't run into any frame issues whatsoever. Count myself lucky I guess. Also, friggin loving this game. Only complaint is the lack of Co-op. Now that would be sweet. :)

I love this game, i served in iraq with the same unit as Deacon St. john. 10th MTN INF. That automatically makes me like him more than most charachters. Not just that though, hes a badass and i really enjoyed the story and gameplay. This is a 10/10 zombie game for me.

I am on my final mission now, playing on PS4, and I have loved the game. I avoided it until now because of the issues reported when it was released, but, honestly, minus a few quick stutters here and there (very rarely and easily ignorable), I have only encountered 2 bugs.. both graphical, as in one instance, a woman was hovering above her bed while sleeping. So basically, they fixed the bugs, as well as the AI, which is quite good. Bike handles extremely well (a rarity in games for some reason) and the weapons are fun to use. I mean, if anyone avoided it until now because of bugs when it first came out, try it now. It's one of the most memorable titles I've played in a while.

The Day 1 patch must have taken care of all the performance issues because Steam reviews and my own experience indicate the game is extremely stable and runs well on a variety of rigs. I have encountered zero graphical or other bugs in 20 or so hours.

It's a good game. It is not the most polished in terms of animation, gameplay, and overall mechanics (especially when compared to other AAA titles). I enjoyed it greatly but a lot of people seem to be hailing it as the second coming of Christ when it's just like a solid Red Dead game with motorcycles and an uneven but occasionally very good story. Why does it have to be any more than that? The highlight was the map and the driving.

@@jarg8 To me on PS4 Pro and PS5 right now after all its patches, it's a solid 9 out of 10. For a first go for Sony Bend at a Open World game. They did a really good job. If it ever gets a sequel they can improve upon things like animation. And nobody comparing it to Christ himself. They just really enjoyed it and loved it a lot. And how many open world motorbike games do we have? Pretty sure this is the only one? And for a first attempt it's really good! I like to compare Days Gone to Just Cause 2. A game that also was great and with a sequel could be improved upon.

This is a great game. For me, the missions were kinda meh, but it was a good love story. Where the game really shines is out on the road where anything can happen! I had quite a few “Oh sh*t oh f*ck” experiences and they were brilliant. The environment is gorgeous, the tension can be cut with knives and those hordes are terrifying indeed. By the end I had completely fallen in love with a game that I had zero expectations for. I really do hope a sequel will happen eventually.

Thanks Karak, for sure gonna keep this on the wishlist for down the road, but sad to see another PlayStation port miss the mark in terms of optimization. I had hoped that Horizon would have been a one off misstep in outsourcing, but either it's a repeat here or the game just didn't get the attention it needed. Regardless, it's not going to make the fanboys any less intent on telling Sony not to port the exclusives, nor is it going to make people willing to put faith in these ports. That one director interview certainly doesn't help matters either.

I like this game, have no problems with frame rates on my standard PS4 and love the detail of the open world, with weather, sunrises and even tire tracks. But story wise it sucks. Deacon's looking for his possibly dead wife, fine but the story switches to tedious mission after mission and there never seems to be a conclusion in sight. Deacon is a dull hero and attracts little sympathy but you play this for the thrill of the hordes which are unique to this game and awesome. Overall a game worth buying but it needs to be at least four hours shorter.

This is actually a good game, I think it's way underrated. I bought it on sale having heard a couple things about it in the past and slotted it into the "play eventually" zombie category of my library. What a mistake, I should have played it earlier! The bike ride into the Lost Lake zone with terribly ill and hallucinating Boozer to save his life with "Solider's Eyes" playing, and with Deacon believing that he would be shot on sight but went anyways to try and save his best bud---that was absolute perfection. The game isn't perfect and has a few quirks but overall it is quite good and well worth your time. Sony/Bend studio---if you see this give this game a sequel!

Performance has been rock solid and fast because I'm spoiled off a Rtx 3090 and 5800x at 3440x1440 100hz With that said...I played this originally on PS4 Pro and performance was terrible. I played on normal difficulty and had a hard time with combat which I died constantly in large group combat zones. Now I'm running on Hard but combat is now fluid, so I'm much better and always have a full stock of materials to keep up on crafting needs. This is the version to play for the experience...but of course, theres the price for the experience some times.

I had perfect performance but the game is quite buggy sometimes. I had a cutscene bug that corrupted the state of my game and reset everything, all the tunnels were blocked again, all the freak nests were back, all my weapons were reset to different ones, the map was totally reset, all my skills were gone. Essentially it was a game breaking bug, luckily I found an autosave right before the bug happened.

I played for 3 hours this morning with no stutter. You mentioned you have an i7. An i7 what? I have an i9 9900k and a RTX 2080 with 32GB with zero stutter. Also, the VSYNC works if you have the settings correct. Try adding a frame limiter. I am running it at 120 FPS. You probably have it set to unlimited. That’s why you have stutter.

Random favorite little detail of mine. The pause screens show a day counter since the fall of the world and it goes up for each day/night cycle you go through. But a weird little detail I found I like is in flashbacks if you pause the day counter is at “0 days gone”

Originally Days gone had story altering choices but they cut those aspects out which leaves the story of the game a little off as there are moments that feel best described as feeling a little "off".

The creators of the game removed it because it didn't fit with the direction the game was going, so they removed. There is a interview on David Jaffes channel with the creators of Days Gone and they bring it up.

Yeah, like learning the wife was still alive and you finally - halfway through the game - go to meet her - and they're both acting like they've never seen each other before. It was so jarring I thought I had had a blackout or something and was missing hours of exposition or had dreamed up the whole thing. I've been hearing hours of dialogue, visiting her grave, seeing her in backflashes, getting to know that very special and interesting person...and here she is! In the flesh! Alive and well! and Deacon's like, "Nah, I'm good."

I was turned off by some major game review sites when this first came out on ps4. Recently just started playing on ps5 and you know what despite its flaws it’s a solid game . It does suffer from the usual open world repetitive type missions that can feel like a chore if you do them back to back but nothing beats mowing down a horde of the infected. This game deserves a sequel with some improvements. I feel like settlements needing to be defended from hordes would be a cool mechanic and having to deal with the aftermath of a settlement you couldn’t save would be neat.

I actually think Deacon is a great character. His portrayal as someone who is maniacally going back and forth from "my wife is dead, no way she survived" to "she must still be alive, there's gotta be hope" and the way he doesn't want to get too attached to any of the communities seems pretty realistic, given the circumstances. And (not spoiling anything) because of those moments when he does drop his guard and gets a little bit comfortable with someone and does something good, at the end of the game the others support him as well when he ends up needing some assistance. Sure, he doesn't change too much throughout the game, but by the time you're finished with the story, it is clear his "lone wolf" mentality was wrong and he obviously gets straight up proven wrong. And that's a totally fine resolution. The story is just a slice of these characters' lives, and that's what ultimately led me to fall in love with the game!

This is a damn good game that never got given the fair shake it deserved by a lot of people, the slow start convinced tons of people the whole game was boring but after you get past those early parts it's fucking amazing to play. Deacon is a great character as well, i love his insane ramblings as he narrates everything he does because it makes sense for the guy to be at least a little crazy after two years of constant stress and freak attacks.

@Top Noodle Good to hear that. I think Days Gone is an Unreal Engine 4 title. Probably much easier to optimize than Horizon Zero Dawn was. Plus, the whole game originally being designed around base PS4's limits probably provided some extra breathing room for decent mid-range builds.

It’s a great game when you realise that the levelling up has made you capable of taking out groups that you used to run and hide from.
