Ironically found the time challenge the easiest. I just snipe the guys in and around the tower with the crossbow, then grab the elite level autorifle up there in the tower and mostly headshot my way to an easy victory in just 2 minutes 15 seconds. It doesn't glitch up that way, unlike if I use the stealthy approach.

Thanks for the kind words and glad you got the gold mate. The patch for this challenge is the best one you can possibly unlock, so If you are playing a days gone playthrough , you will notice the hordes are a hell of a lot easier to kill with gunplay now.

Many thanks for watching my vids Brendon, most appreciated. Just make sure to take out the stealth kills first, then the headshots, then worry about the melee kills. Go about the job in that order, and you'll get the gold mate.

Great tutorial, took around 5-6 tries to get the gold, the hardest part was hitting the armoured marauder in the legs

Great vid, took some practice getting the run down and learning how to aim the crossbow properly but its a very easy route to follow. Just need to land your shots, and hope your allies put up a decent fight when you tag them. One of my runs I got the guy with the yellow shirt and armor and he died fairly quickly, surrounded I guess. Thanks. Made like 700th on the leaderboard with this strategy.

Great video - I had no idea you can do 80% of the work from OUTSIDE the camp lol It never occurred to me to run around the outside like I might do in the base game. I'll try this tonight and see if I can get gold. BTW I don't recall seeing where the 3rd residue was - maybe I just missed it. Also I noticed you roll a lot - does it help maintain stealth?

Many thanks for the kind words mate. It's an awesome challenge to play (frustrating to some), and set's you up nicely for dealing with any ambush camp in the main game. 2 of the 3 residue nests are outside the camp, and the third is on one of the crates at the back of the furthest back building. And the rolling is a stealth thing mate. The marauders seem to miss you if you are rolling unless you are right in front of them.

I may have to check this one out CS12. I'm sure in the past I've attempted this and struggled to get one that worked, but, it could just be a case of finding a weak point with the flamethrower guy. Would really like to see him turn on the rest of the camp, just not sure how long he would last though given that one shot to the back would take him out quick. Love the idea of this though CS12.

I can do this but I can't get gold because at the end it says I have one enemy left, but there isn't anyone anywhere to be found. This has happened three times. Yes, I found the flamethrower guy that comes out, he's dead by the mine. I'm stumped. What a nasty bug. (PC version, by the way.)

Right mate, if it makes you feel any better, I've had this very same problem on some of my runs on this challenge. Usually the marauder has gone looking on the outside of the camp and becomes a nightmare to find. If this happens with me, I restart the challenge, as time is an important factor in how I do the runs on this challenge. It's not a bug, but it is incredibly annoying, and I play on the PS5. I do have another video on this challenge that shows a very different approach to getting a gold score on this challenge. Worth checking it out as it's a very quick method (also dangerous, but it works well). Hope you get the gold soon mate.

UPDATE: i got the gold medal, it was only because one of the fuckers kept jumping through the window, in the last few runs out of the 50 I've done today they didnt hop through the window and i managed to snake by the end after using all my residue bolts with molotovs and grenades, time to never touch this challenge again

Congrats my friend , this particular challenge in my opinion is the second hardest to get gold in (SURVIVE is the hardest , but you would probably excel in this challenge as there is no time limit on this one , and I know you prefer encounters when you have the time to plan). AMBUSH CAMP RUSH has SO many things that can go wrong on any run , so a silver on this one mate is superb.

When approaching this heavy armoured guy, always be looking to hit his upper left thigh. My other ambush camp rush video shows the perfect distance to be hitting this marauder at every time.

I don’t understand, I killed everyone using residue bolts and ghost, and it was 24400 points only😭 what could hv gone wrong ?

The only thing I can think of, is that you have lost the multiplier quickly in this run, or, you got very few residue bolt kills at the start of the run when building up the multiplier. The multiplier is important to maintain for as long as possible. But it's a head scratcher, as usually if you take out the entire camp with residue bolt kills & stay hidden the entire time, it usually gets a gold score.

this challenge is incredibly frustrating only because of the shitty ai, been trying to get the gold on this for a couple months now and not only is the AI fucking me up but its where to aim to hit the heavy dude, even if i get him something else stupid happens like an enemy will jump through the window after i get the second residue shot and will alarm the camp or I'll be forced to shoot them and then a melee enemy will alarm the camp, I just cannot win with this challenge its so poorly made

Man I hate this challenge, the multiplier keeps dying because none of the people I bolt get kills. Even when I bolt the last guy he just stands around like a dickhead letting the others wail on him with axes.

Got to admit , not one of my favorite challenges , and a lot can go wrong very easily. Do try to secure a gold score on this one though, as it unlocks THE best patch perk you can get from the challenges , extra bullet penetration.

Man the ai sucks in this game i tried like 20x times to copy your method and got gold since that patch is really helpful on hordes challenged but sometimes when i residued bolt the enemy thye do nothing and walk around and get mauled by melee maruaders the later challenges were much fairer than the first ones i preety much gold them 2 tries the surrounded challenge is also really fustrating with low base health and stamina and shitty perks that you get like what the fuck is the bull rush skill going to do on a hoard? Some of the rings on the challenge felt really useless like the melee ring they could have made a ripper brawl challenges with that only using melee weapon but nope that ring is very useless and most bike rings are useless as fk bc i gold them first try not even realizing i equip reload lionhesrt ring lol

You're main point for this game mate is absolutely bang on. The bloody freakers have more sense than the marauders as they will actually try and duck gun shots. The marauders just run towards you oblivious that you are about to put a bullet in their head. The challenges are frustrating mate , and the best advice I can give is practice.A lot of the patch perks are more helpful in the main game than to the challenges.

@@borislav247 yes the human ai specifically needs alot of improvements like wth on ambush camps the juggernaut guy would spray bullets on you but when its a random horde that you bring on to them "hahahaha pew pew 2 bullets before i get mauled" a ambush camp of 20 marauders could not even take down a small horde like it would take only 10 freakers to defeat them all because the human just stand there and fires 3-5 bullets like wtf if i was the one who got caught they will spray bullets on me close range
