I’m also a mother and I never think your videos are unrealistic. In fact, your videos inspire me to romanticize motherhood and not just use my kids as an excuse to not do anything. And I think it’s soooo healthy to protect your son and husband’s privacy. It’s not cool to complain about the difficulties of motherhood especially on a platform where he can hear about it in the future. You’re doing a great job and I love watching your videos! Perfect balance of inspiration and reality. 🫶🏻

I have ALWAYS admired how you carry motherhood. I am a SAHM, so you inspire me in how I want to steward my home by being slow and cozy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with sharing your life as something that is full of joy and slowness and intentionality. It’s truly a BLESSING that I feel like a lot of moms don’t get to experience. I am always encouraged by your videos and am always inspired! Just a little encouragement for you to continue doing what you’re doing my friend! 🤍

Ignore comments like that! You’ve shared the struggles. We all know kids have bad days and throw fits, we don’t need you to show that in order to know it happens. I love seeing the sweetness. And I think many moms who stay home w their babies live similar lives. Keep sharing and stay true to yourself and your family.

I think you are so talented at making such aesthetically beautiful videos that some people may find it hard to believe that you have hard days. I personally think that when you speak to the camera, you are so open and honest and have a beautiful balance of talking about the hard parts of early motherhood, while also being grateful and positive. I find that there is a very strong narrative on social media that motherhood is awful and hard all the time. I think your reflections of it are so realistic and a breath of fresh air. I also think that it's wonderful that you are protecting Connor's privacy and keeping him safe online. ❤

Enchiladas are always a crowd pleaser and easy to make a vegetarian option if needed. I’ve also had great success with chili and I asked guests to bring toppings. If you want to impress, Julia Child’s Beef Bourginon is simple but divine, and the long cook time means you can make it ahead. Lasagna is more labor intensive but also an easy way to feed a crowd! I recently did a morning party with quiche and some other brunch-y bits and it was a huge hit!

You are so genuine and realistic. You talk through what’s going on and your struggles like you’re having a chat with friends, but you aren’t visually showing us those things. And since I try to be mindful about the content I absorb, I appreciate that you don’t share all of those down moments through video. A huge reason I enjoy your vids is because you’re uplifting and inspiring. Talking through your thoughts and struggles makes you realistic, but we don’t expect you to be actually showing us the down moments as they’re happening
@michellegianna491418 күн бұрын
I completely agree with you not showing any negativity on KZbin about your son. I’ve watched other KZbinrs showing their kids having tantrums…and as realistic as it is, I cringe for that child. It’s not fair to them when they grow up and the possibility of other people/kids to see these videos of them and maliciously use it against them. You are doing a beautiful job protecting your son, while still sharing him and his role in your life. ❤

I'm a little late with this, but I want to tell you first: a WAGON! If you don't already have a wagon for your little guy, my daughters adored the wagon. Age 1 was the beginning of them wanting to ride in the wagon, and then when the little sisters were born, they were forever dragging each other, the cat, their stuffed animals, around in that little wagon. The day I passed that wagon on to another family with littler kids was a sad one for me. That wagon had seen some good times! And I love your vlogs because they are such a mix of honesty about the truly difficult and sometimes dark moments in life, and then a lovely appreciation for the little pretty moments in each day. You're doing a wonderful job, Michelle, and I look forward to your sharing the continuation of your journey.

We appreciate your transparency Michelle. Everyone has hard days and your authenticity comes across from your channel, I’ve been a subscriber here since nyc college days as we were in the same season of life and I just stayed along for the ride since. Please don’t take comments too seriously, ultimately everyone has their own POV and own life experiences that shapes their lens. Respectfully, your channel can come across as “perfect” and all put together most of the time, filled with a joyful family, trad life, cooking for your family/shopping, and that’s 100% okay! You don’t need to show your struggles or highlight them for anyone, that’s between you and your family as you said. As you mentioned here, you tend to put out mostly positive content and I think that’s why that subscriber may have found your channel “unrealistic” since you usually focus on the positive. This isn’t a bad thing at all as you want your channel to reflect uplifting vibes, positivity and the good or interesting parts of your life- it may not paint a holistic picture of reality based on their learned experiences and obstacles- but that’s not the purpose of your channel. I flock to your channel as do many of us, for comfort, seasonal content and good energy, an escape from the hustle and bustle of life, and inspiration to strive forward each day. Your positivity radiates and if that doesn’t serve someone anymore due to their own issues or perspective, that’s okay too ❤ everyone’s on their own page of their own book

You're one of the few people that feel actually realistic! No matter what you do, I feel like the best thing you're honestly so good at is romanticizing your own life even when you have a chaotic or bad day. You make me feel warm and cozy. ( Btw your baking and your cooking seems to be so good)

When my son was one he loved books, puzzles, any wooden toys (more open ended play with less stimulation), stuffed animals. If you do tv they have "read alongs" on Spotify that aren't super stimulating and so cute! ❤ We also got a tower around then and use it daily. Worth every penny! Once your son is walking, you could get a baby stroller his size. My son loves pushing around his trucks.

It's challenging being a deeply sensitive person, but what is the alternative? Not feel and be robotic? I think it's finding balance between being aware of & feeling the pain & suffering in the world and sending prayers as well as finding the magical beauty of everyday life and inner peace through our deeper connection. You are a compassionate, sensitive soul and I relate. Sending comfort and good wishes! xo

I agree with all the comments about how well you portray motherhood! ❤ You definitely open up and share about the hard moments, but you’re so good about doing it in a way that’s not bitter or discouraging and I feel like that’s what a lot of people use social media for…I for one appreciate the intention with which you speak (or don’t speak) about your marriage and son! The tongue has the power of life and death and I believe it’s so, so important to do what you’re doing and speak life into your days - totally does not take away from the “realness”!!!

I’m not a mom so I don’t really know what is “authentic” but I personally feel that everyone’s life circumstances are different, everyone’s experiences are different, and to compare just isn’t realistic. I’ve always felt like you are extremely authentic on here, probably the most out of anyone I watch, and you’ve always been open and honest about struggles. Not to bad mouth anyone, I just think sometimes people are envious and self-conscious about their own lives and that’s the only reason they feel the need to say something bad about someone else. I’m sure most of your following feels the same as me.

Michelle- that was so precious what you shared about your mom. As a mom who always had everyone over our home (my family, husbands family and all of our kids homeschooled friends and family) I always hoped my kids would grow up and want to offer hospitality to others. Imagine my delight when my eldest daughter (26) told me that she was going to host her brother and his girlfriend during the recent hurricane here in FL! There are times as a mom where you just feel so blessed because you see that your adult children are embracing what you have tried to model for them over the years. I hope your mom watches your vlogs- she's got to feel so happy and blessed to have a daughter like you. I can't wait to try your recipes too so thanks for sharing.

For baking: yours will vastly improve if you measure by weight or make sure you're using dry measuring cups and wet measuring cups appropriately. Also if you spoon flour into the measuring cup instead of scooping with it bc flour compresses and you end up with more than called for doing that.

We are here in Florida and I’ve never seen so much damage here flooding and so many trees down no power and I just got back from the grocery store and the shelves are scarce I don’t think delivery trucks can get down here

I haven’t been happy with my apple cider donuts/muffins either…like you said, they are good, taste like cinnamon sugar… but not really th apple cider flavor I am looking for!! I have reduced the apple cider, used the TJ’s apple cider (my fav), but it still seems lacking. If you find one you love, please post to share!!
