You don't have to replicate the dating you did in college to be sharing intimacy,...what could be more close than sharing raising your child together? Having meals and laughing together, going on outings like you do, all of that is sharing with your husband but in a new way,. How delightful and expansive is that? Absolutely! We don’t go out without our kids, but they go to bed at 8 and we have every evening to spend time together alone. You don’t have to go out to have alone time, it’s the intentionality! We consider our family trips to Sam’s club a date 😂 we get our special snack/drink and love walking the aisles with our kids. It’s really special to be content with the mundane 😊

It was so lovely to hear your thoughts on balance. I have been feeling this too, but you really put it into words so well. Life is fast! I feel like I blinked and my son was 9 months old. I think often about how I am lucky to be living the life I dreamed of 10 years ago, so I just want to focus on this stage with my bubba and soak it all in as we'll be in a different season before I know it!

I just love weeks in the life vlogs they’re so entertaining and I enjoy seeing what others do in a week. 😊 I hear so many people say that once you have a baby your pets will be put on the back burner too. Whenever me and my boyfriend decide to have a baby I know we will love our pets the same. 😊 I don’t do anything special with my hair. I normally just brush it and put some mouse or dry shampoo in it. 😅😊

I love bows, too, but I always second guess them when walking out the door. I think one braid with a bow or just tied back with a bow is more elegant and mature, and maybe two braids with two bows skirts the line of looking too young. I don't know though. I think everyone else looks so great with them but I always second guess it with myself

We have a ball pit and my 1 year old loves it! I think it’s a good one to have. At first I just didn’t want it out and in our living room but then i thought, she’s only this little for so long and this is the only time she will have these toys taking over our home lol.

I so agree with you, Michelle, on the whole "balance" thing. I actually heard an advice that balance and trying to do it all as a Mom is a lie and like you said it sucks the joy out of enjoying where you are in life. It becomes this stress of "I need to be and do it all" and some people develop resentment. I think for me, focusing on 3 pillars of my values each month is how I "balance"

I have a pop-up ball pit from target so it doesn’t have to be up all of the time, we got extra balls for it because it only came with 40 and didn’t fill it up, but I can confirm the balls end up all over the house 😅. My son really liked it at first but it quickly lost its novelty so I don’t know that I’d recommend it.

we went with the Evenflo 360 slim! honestly every seat had such mixed reviews, I finally just ordered one 🫣 but so far, he likes it SO much better than his infant car seat

If you look at your life as a whole we ultimately find “balance.” Just like with seasons in a year, if you look at a season by itself it won’t look balanced (I.e., either too hot or too cold) but when you look at all four seasons in a year you see that there is balance in the long run.

I feel like there’s very little encouragement for birthing parents to keep their identities and to take time for themselves. On the contrary, I get constant messaging about how your life will completely change your identity will change. You will no longer care about the things that you once cared about and you will be a shadow or a shell of your former self, once you become a mother. it is as if once you crossover into motherhood, all mothers experience the same thing, they become a mother, and that is their only distinguishing feature. It is interesting how you seem to experience very different cultural messaging.
