The vibe is really nice in your apartment Did you wash the plants off and inspect them once you get home? You should wash them and look under the leaves and on the stem and on the soil for spider mites or gnats. A lot of times when you buy plants, they are surrounded by other plants and the other plants have a chance of being infected with the bug or something and with the plants being so close together, they can just jump from one plant to the next. So keep that in mind and consider that when buying plants always inspect the plants . If you wash your plants with soap and water diluted, of course., you can spot some things on your plants. And don't repot your plants too soon give them time to get acclimated to their new space. The conditions are different from where they were to where they are now. They will need some time to get adjusted to the light the humidity the temperature. Sometimes you can wait a year before potting a plant depending on the type of plant you purchased . That snake plant doesn't need to be repotted yet in my opinion. That allocation can be a little temperamental take your time with her.😅 one final suggestion by yourself a moisture meter. Plants like different amounts of water. I have learned that for my plants to flourish a weekly watering schedule was not best for my plants. I have a lot of them probably , too many.😊 but some don't like to be watered or need to be watered weekly like your snake plant for instance. As you can tell, I am a full-fledged plant mom😂😂

Clean the leaves of those lovely plants each week with nice luke warm water and apply with napkins, that way is you see any aphids you can deal with it by spraying them with Neem oil. But please make sure you clean the plant babies when you get them home, just incase they bring anything home with them from the retailer. Nice healthy start. ❤ Love and blessings from 🇬🇧

use 1/4" sand on top of all of your plants to help stop gnats and only water from the bottom. Easiest way is to use a plastic tote filled a bit above the drainage holes on the plant pots, let them pull up what they need for an hour or two, and then transfer onto a towel on the lid for a few minutes to transfer back across the house drip free; no water on top helps keep it inhospitable to bugs. The wait time leaves nice breaks from whatever cleaning tasks your up to. Fig tree? Start checking out the Middle Eastern grocers, someone's grandpa is raising them :'D

Hi- With some research,this is a non chemical method that worked for me… To get rid of the gnats, use ground cinnamon on a non- watering day. The cinnamon should create a light dusting on the top soil (yes, you will see the cinnamon ). This should be done once in a while. Best to you DWHO in your journey! 🙏🏾💯

Make sure you have bottoms on those beautiful pots to handle watering them if they have a hole for drainage. ALSO it would be good to put something else under that so water stains won't mess up nice floors and beautiful furniture

Lol, I’m sorry to tell you that some sort of pests on your plants is inevitable part of owning them. I’ve had plants for about 5 years now and luckily have only dealt with the gnats. You can use BTI drops and put them in your water to water your plants and that helps tremendously. The other thing is good air flow, having a fan oscillating around them because gnats are weak fliers and most importantly not drenching the heck out of your plants/not overwatering them. The place is coming along nicely. The plants look beautiful, but the first thing you do with store-bought plants is to REMOVE that sphagnum moss on the top of the soil. Stores add this to plants to keep them from drying out so they don't have to water them often. When you take them home and start watering them, it makes the soil too wet. This is the most common cause of house plants dying...

Come onnnnn plant dad😊 that first plant has different names, one being birds of paradise. That baby is going to love your apartment. I promise all you have to do is add water and Sunshine and that thing will cover your ENTIRE window 😊.It is so easy to grow so easy to love of course the snake plant as well. The first one that you picked up was really beautiful. The leaves will split anyway, but those are so easy to love. You need one more… a ZZ plant! Yes yes ❤ I have every plant that you picked up because they are so easy to grow. Wait a minute I was supposed to let someone else buy my money plant😮??? well no wonder😅! Got our deposit back I know that’s right. Those people should’ve paid your rent for the first year in your new place. I know they wouldn’t trip like that.😂❤

I am a plant girlie and I have one in my bedroom and sometimes I will also put them in the kitchen and/or bathroom depending on the lighting and/or if there is a window. Plants are life and they literally and figuratively living up spaces.

I'm learning how to take care of plants. In the past I wasn't so successful. I'm taking baby steps and I bought a small snake plant to start off with. I use an app to guide me along the way. My second plant will be a floor rubber plant.
