I am totally the same with seafood but I moved from Arizona (hardly any seafood restaurants) to Florida (seafood places everywhere) 3 months ago and I went to a crab boil cookout thing and they had a tarp on the counter and just dumped the whole thing right there and watching everyone eat it with all the butter and everything made me try it for the first time! And I didn't hate it! p.s. you are smart, sometimes things are just stupid... heh also sometimes if I run the jar under hot water it will loosen it enough to get it open. And lastly I will pray for Dace!

With Your bananas I have cut them in slices & froze them in freezer safe Tupperware with plastic wrap pressed down over to prevent freezer burn or a reusable ziplock bags with air pressed out as well. I have found both work well to store extra bananas in the freezer

Poor puppy, I used to buy my Rottweiler ear wash and ear dry drops at Petsmart. I would use it every week. He didn't have ear issues after that.

I am in Phoenix, too, and this is the worst allergy season for humans and dogs in a long time. My 2 dogs had to get cytopoint injections in the last month, and the last time they did was 4 or 5 years ago. Thankfully, they just needed 1 each, and we are now out of allergy season since our temps are above 100 degrees. However, one of my dogs who is more prone to allergies licked her paws so much that she gave herself infections in 2 of them. She went on antibiotics and is now all better. For ears, I use Zymox, which I order from Amazon. It is so quick and easy, and keeps ear infections away. It is not harsh like the cleaning solution you get from the vet. I have been using it for years on my allergy prone dog and she has not had a single ear infection. It was recommended to me by a holistic vet years ago. For probiotics, I give my dogs goat milk yogurt. There is one brand that is sold at Whole Foods and Sprouts, but Trader Joe's also has their own store brand and it is about half the price. I put a spoonful on top of their breakfast and dinner. I also started giving them wild Wyman's brand blueberries (just a few on top of their food) since they are high in antioxidants. They do also get fish oil (I only get Nordic Naturals brand) and pumpkin. I used to give coconut oil daily (just a little bit, as it can cause GI upset since it is an oil), and I think it does help with allergies. However, I give it a few days a week now. The food I feed is grain free, I and love and you brand. They sell it at Sprouts (maybe WF, too?), but it is typically cheaper on Amazon. With regards to weight, if he really isn't eating much and gaining weight, I would have blood work done, if not full blood work then at least check the thyroid. That was happening with my dog recently, and she was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism a couple of months ago. She now takes her thyroid medicine every morning, and is doing much better and has lost 4 lbs so far - even though she is eating the same amount of food she was eating before she started taking the medicine. Hypothyroidism can occur in people, too, and the medicine for humans is the same. I know that was a long comment, but I love dogs (and other animals) and want Dace to be healthy and happy. I hope you're both staying safe and cool in this heat. We are only doing short walks (no more than a mile) early in the AM with our dogs now. It heated up early this year.

Brooke, Our first Shepherd Sandy Star a full bred Shepherd had terrible allergies. She was a Sable. Like I told you months ago she passed away last spring at age 9 from Cancer way too early. I always kept her clean and felt like I would take her to the vet when her skin was in "bad shape." I hope they never thought I didn't take care of her well. Her skin would look so bad. I never tried the allergy shots but I wish I did. My vet suggested a pet allergist, wow. There are some in my area. She took a pill called Apoquel. Initially it seemed to help her then it didn't. Also don't take Q Tips to Dace's ears. Instead use a method our vet taught me. Buy some larger size cotton balls and put some of your ear cleaning solution on it and use your pinky or forefinger to swipe his ear of the brown wax crud. Method works amazing. Q Tips are too much of a blind sweep and uncomfortable he said. I have also used those soft cotton dry makeup pads round or sqaure as they dont leave lint. They work wonders with the solution too. The one ear cleaner the vet gave us was Cherry scented. I use to tell my sweet girl she smelled like a "cheap car wash air freshener" that you use to be able to choose your scent for your car out of like 10 choices in the 1990s. Bahahaaaa. And yes just like your pic of Dace up above here she would hold her head sideways if her ears were bugging her. Certainly a Shepherd thing. Her right ear was always worse than her left it seemed. @@brrookejoness You are right: Sheps are their own little selfs and they have their quirks. Ours didn't like her ears being touched either but I was able to do it better and less painless once our vet taught me that cotton trick. The amount of yucky stuff that comes out of those giant ears of theirs is crazy. I appreciate Dace's cuddles, I will take them all! We did get another family member, late last year: we rescued him. He either is a Belgian Malinois or a German Shepherd and or mix of those and he doesn't have the problems with his skin our full bred girl had at all. He is dark too like Dace but I do miss our Sandy's beautiful Sable fur. It was so gorgeous. Thanks for your appreciative and heartfelt reply.❤

Dace gaining weight could be that his dog food could have a lot of calories. He would need lower in calories dog food. 💙 My dog needed to lose weight. her food was the main cause to her weight

Hey girl, hope this helps, but look into it. Yeast causes scratching and it’s caused by an unhealthy or unbalanced gut try giving him prebiotics and probiotics or if you want natural try pumpkin pure .. Where do i find good pre and probiotics??? He won’t eat the pumpkin pure… he’s so picky sometimes 🥲 also tried putting him on a RAW diet as well, just don’t know the type of meat i suppose in accordance to how much to give him. Plus, it got expensive ☠️

@@brrookejoness I started with raw chicken leg quarters went adding beef liver, beef heart, frozen fish like tilapia, turkey.. the only meat I don’t give her is pork and that’s because when buying it at store usually it’s cut up wrong… The key when giving a raw diet is the time of freezing your meat will kill all bacteria. Dogs by nature have salmonella in their gut, so when people talk about getting salmonella they are misinformed that they naturally carry it. I started following @1st508thAirborne He has a pack of bluebay shepherds and also explains about raw diet. Look into it. I highly recommend it as well.. Fruit and veggies: I give her carrots, apples, cranberries(great for arthritis), watermelon, kale, cooked pumpkin, bell peppers without seed, broccoli.. I have used GNC prebiotic and probiotic they have worked and to them it tastes like liver. GS a really picky eaters but what I have learned with my girl is trying it numerous of times. As well mixing it with their favorite if he or she high value food is beef liver that’s when I try mixing in pumpkin.. And if you are scared of the smell don’t worry give it to him frozen.. it will 1 cool him off in hot weather and 2 have no odor. Don’t worry about raw bones because good and easy for them to brake and eat them rather than cooked bones.. cooked bones are dangerous because they are not able to digest them 😉😉 hope this helps and if you ever want to know more let me know !!

@@brrookejoness I live in a small town Tyler Texas .. so we have local walmart and sam’s nothing wrong about it but no fancy stores buy pre and probiotics so I get them at walmart I bought a little while back a made in US brand probiotic for dogs that have 3 in 1 enzymes, pre and probiotics by pawfect chew 120 chews try looking it up might not have that exact name but look it up 3 in 1 made in US in walmart or petstore. I got mine delivered to me from walmart. But these will last you a month. The GNC brand also purchased at walmart and have seen them at Petco.
