for years, I've been listening to this, singing along when I can. I thought it only shared part of the name with 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' but it's based on the entire movie... When she introduced herself as Clementine, I was certain. It was almost a huge spoiler, but it didn't spoil anything about that beautiful movie, it just brought it some familiarity

She left the next day, & she's already with another, & seems as happy as ever. Even more so; when it feels like the song was written about you because it's as literal as her and I laying out on the ice once before and it being a really memorable time for me. Of course, life goes on and I'll be sticking to my guns but.. you know. It's rough.
