I think you're my hero. I'm going to have to pay you if I get anything from this past time. The debt is real. I was about to go searching for a Ren'py tutorial and lo and behold. Yeah, thanks man. Every question I have there's a video for it. Maybe a request from a new fan? 10 minutes or so on hands, posing, gripping, realism wtf to do with them in scenes that don't focus on them per say.

Hey Mate, Not sure if you're still seeing these comments, but thank you so much for this tutorial. I am blown away - I've never created lighting this good before. Just one question, when the planes are in my render they're visible in the form of a bunch of small white dots. I've fixed this just by taking them out of the camera, but are you doing something else to combat this?
@GameDeveloperTraining
@GameDeveloperTraining 4 жыл бұрын
Mostly just moving them out of frame or fixing it in photoshop

Awesome instructional video. I found however, the plane is showing with firefly effect. What do I need to do to remove them? Thanks

I tried this a few times now following your video. Similar parameters under Surfaces -> Emission & Geometry. Environment Mode is Scene only. Character is completely black when I switch on Iray draw style. It does not illuminate the character. Also tried different distances between the plane and character and luminance (emission) settings. ??

It sounds like you need to experiment with your render settings and the luminosity settings.

I did something similar with spotlights. Is it better to use planes instead?

Mesh lights are just easier to work with and allow you to make soft light more easily. I am of course only speaking as someone who has a preference to using mesh lights, others may disagree
