If Atsushi finished his character development, he'd have the same character position as Atugawa, and we can all agree that Dazai's the most interesting character in the series and that Atsushi is just a typical shounen protagonist. I think it's on purpose to make Dazai seem more mysterious and grabbing if his past is revealed more, and he's just as awesome as ever. He's a psychopathic chaotic neutral suicidal maniac and absurdist, a badass anti-gifted tactician with a comic relief personality who creates deep quotes from time to time. Regarding Atsushi, there's Alibaba from Magi and Simon from Guren Lagann who start of as pessimistic but gradually mature. I enjoy seeing them develop but it's just predictable... I love characters that make me analyze and interpret them... Characters that make me think and there are the three aliens from Dead Apple... I love Oda, Chuuya, and the guild boss too, but Dazai and Fyodor have to be my fave.

He can literally predict everything, his tactics are never wrong, he can easily identify things with small clues, he can easily outsmart people. It's been a long time since my last visit to this AMV out of nostalgia. Iirc, he does have his rare moments of slip-ups or situations that he couldn't see. People insisting that he is 100% flawless in being a calculating mastermind is one of the things that drove me away from both anime and manga. I thought he was totally mooth in that aspect at first, and then it became the main reason why I got bored with his character- everything's just "according to plan".
