In the real life case of Amityville-it was not the husband who killed the whole family but the older son-Ronald “Butch” DeFeo Jr. and he said there are a bunch of spirts that made him kill his family with a shotgun but since living in jail, he has admitted there was no spirts and killed his parents and siblings because he wanted to. The only known axe murders that occurred was Lizzie Borden and the Villisca Axe murders but the whole family ( Moore family) and two sleep over kids( Ina Mae and Lena Gertrude Stillinger) were killed and no one knows who did it- even today and Lizzie went to court and got off.
