Richard Petty is a great guy, I met him in the Daytona Raceway pits, I had a person that was in awe of him (I was working for Nascar then) and mentioned that he was this guy's favorite driver since the STP days. Richard went over to the man and said, "can you take a photo of us with his camera?" I said, "Of course" and he then signed the man's program. Richard Petty walked around the pits and smiled at everyone. Not only a championship driver but a really good guy!

For $11 that’s a heck of a experience. Amazing place and history. There will never be anyone else like Richard Petty. That’s pretty cool that he makes his autographed items so accessible to everyone. I’ve always heard he loved to do autographs and he would sign for everyone after a race.

I love that Richard Petty is more happy bringing his fans joy by making his autographs and museum fees so affordable. He could probably charge triple those prices and still move the same volume. As great of a driver as he was, he's an even better person!

This is neat...!! I've never seen this museum before. Do you see those two old scales holding that old car up? We have one of those old scales. My husband had it restored a few years ago. 😃 Seeing all those blue 1970's Dodge Chargers reminds me of when my mom met and her 2nd husband. They both drove a 1970's blue Dodge Chargers. I used to love to watch Nascar races. I don't watched it much anymore since we don't have cable TV anymore. Bummer...!! 😏 Great video Jordan...!! 💙💙💙💚💚💚

The original 43jr barracuda drag car was crashed when he was racing Arnie the Farmer Beswick and some spectators were killed. That car got buried in the ground there on the property. The one in the museum is the one he finished the season with because he had a contractual commitment.

My dad loved racing. He went to all the Indy 500 from the late 60's to around early 80's. Back in the early day peicould just go down to the pits snd walk around. My dad has a collection of the Indy event books from the first time he went. Many have signatures in them from some of the big name racers. My dad also was setting right in front when Sweed Savage crashed and unfortunately died. He happened to click a pic when Sweed crashed. We had that pic in his gun case until the 90's. I'll have to see if dad has Petty:s autograph in one o the event books.
@RebeccaGreen-jt3qk9 ай бұрын
Just to clarify, my dad didn't take the pic of Sweed because of the horrible accident. This was back in the day when the cameras had to be wound to get to take a next pic. My ad just happened to take a pic at the exact same time Sweed hit the wall and burst into flames. Unfortunately yes Sweed died from that accident.

Met Richard at Michigan in 1986. He was always my favorite driver. When I played football, I wore #43 proudly because of him. I've been collecting memorabilia since the late '60's. Very classy, and approachable. I have pictures with him, and video tape. He WAS my favorite sports personality....my hero....... Now he's partnered with Jimmy Johnson, and Legacy Motorsports. Running a Toyota in Nascar. IMHO a slap in the face to America, and her automobile manufacturers. After 54 years, I quit. #43 on a Japanese car. Saddest day ever in sports to me........😭😭😭😭😭
