DB Killer removal on a Acrapovic Racing Line Titanium exhaust system on my Yamaha MT-09 SP 2021

Finally i removed the DB-Killer on my Acrapovic system. I might try to take away the catalyst aswell cause i dont think it made big enough diffrence.

I want to do the same on my bike, but struggle to find rivets that fit. I have found some black ones with a black plastic head, but i don't know how well they handle heat. What kind did you use? I have been looking for some that dosen't need much NM to break

i bought black onces that is made of aluminium and iron i dont use plastic. good luck man :)

Sounds like the standard exhaust before. What did you use to put rivets back in?

its hard the hear the diffrence with the phone recording but insure you it is big diffrence irl. i bought black aluminium rivets

Veeeeeeryyyyyyyyyyyyy gooooood resout !!!!! i expect less, now i have to find this machine for putting blind rivets back (please give size of them) and how to masure where to make new hole for new bolt (and did you use original bolt or longer one?) (are those rivets is kinda special for carbon fiber or regular one? and you forgot try to reinstall db killer. i think inside need to have some metal tube/ washer.

Thank for your feedback. The size is in mm 3.2x10mm click the link to the a picture of the package. so special rivets just black aluminium rivets with stainless steal in the body. www.dropbox.com/s/gr3w3p1o29sczp1/20230211_181501.jpg?dl=0 Google MILWAUKEE M12 BPRT-0 to find the blind rivets machine we lined up the 2 holes verticaly and then measured the distance where the hole was supose to be from the center of the hole that is closets to the blind rivets hole. im not going to use the original bolt im making a new bolt today that will be a special made one i will link it as soon as its done.

Är inne på att köpa ett eftermarknadssystem med cat också, men undrar ifall det skiljer mycket i ljud jämfört med original när man tagit bort db killer? Eller skiljer det inte allt för mycket ändå?

Tillräckligt stor skillnad att det var värt jobbet med att ta bort den iaf. Men hade jag valt att köpa ett system så hade jag definitivt inte valt ett system med cat. Är ju inte jättemycket jobb med att ta bort cat:en heller. det är ju nästa steg ifall jag väljer att göra detta. :)

@@guffemoto okej då kanske jag ska välja båda delarna så man kan byta mellan cat o inte, dock hört många som påstår att man måste mappa om för o inte riskera att förstöra motor etc, dock kan jag kanske tänka mig att många överdriver lite med 😅 man har ju i vilket fall som helst inte lust att sabba garantin genom att mappa :)

The reason i put the hole in the carbon cover is that i dont wanna take away the blind rivets every time its time to screw back the db-killer for the annual inspection that we have to do here in sweden every year. if i dont have the db-killer inside it will not pass the inspection and then im not allowed to drive the motorcycle until its back. i will cover the hole with a black grommet rubber plug and when that is there you will not even noticed the hole. i have it in my backpack right now and i will install it tomorrow after my nightshift. Im also thinking about removing the catalyst to make the system louder but first i want to try how it sound when im driving but that have to wait until spring :)

@@guffemoto Looks good! Where did you find the grommet? Btw I did not know you have a annual check where you need the DB killer. Is it easy to remove the cat on the acra? I might choose the sc project str-1 and install without cat. I like the clean look, no exhaust sticking out. Thx for sharing

Bro I manage to drill out pop rivets, unscrew small bolt 8mm but can’t pull the db killer … hooow the f.. to pull this shitt ..

Go to 6:35 in the video and make an tool like we did or find something that look like that. We just used an gang Rod and bent the end of it. If you don't have a gang Rod you can prolly get one at your local hardware store

@@guffemoto i finaly got it .. try it on the moto and its not that much lauder (its better but not beast, wich is good ) and i put 8mm bolt to close the hole and put back the carbon pice i think will not put back the db killer :D next project removing the catalisator!

Well i agree it was now easy. But im my case it was already on the bike when i bought it. if it was up to me i would have bought a complete diffrent exhaust system. but now when i already have it im happy with the result i got after modding it

no i have had the time this summer. i had a big problem with my hip so i have barely driven the bike this summer
