That’s a direct clone of the old High Standard Sentinel cylinder configuration and lock work. Never thought I’d see a modern day copy of that great little revolver. Way to go Diamond Back!

Yes you’re right looks just like a Double Nine. The sentinel and double nine are virtually the same revolver.

@@jamesweaver9636 I believe the sentinel is more like a conventional double action revolver where the double nine is a single action look alike. Yes, from my recollection of the sentinel the cylinder and crane are very similar if not identical. the frame is different though.

I actually own a sentinel double nine. It took a bath in Hurricane Katrina, survived, and still shoots quite well.

Looks like an old High Standard DA such as my Durango. A buddy in High School had a Natchez which was basically the same gun. They were well made, affordable and a lot of fun.

Is it safe to say we are living in a new golden era of .22LR pistol manufacturing?? Taurus TX, Glock, Smith, Ruger & .22 revolvers from them plus the Beretta and FN new models??? There’s some incredible offerings of extremely well built firearms you can shoot all day long for very cheap. Even if the revolvers almost cost a grand, as long as you count how cheap the ammo is, it’s still kind of a deal

This recent ammo shortage should convince everyone to own at least one .22, be it handgun or rifle...I read so many comments of people saying they hadn't been to the range in months, and .22 shooters never stopped going...a gun like this, and a couple thousand rounds of cheap bulk, would have made for some range visits during this lean time...

I Love This Gun. I Will look forward to see other variations of this gun of course other barrel lengths 5.5in , 7.5in , maybe a 2in or 3in model just to push back at the Heritage Barkeep. But I Think a Birds Head Grip Would Look Cool on this gun. i hope the Aftermarket accessories for this gun will eventually be as good as Heritage with all of there cool aftermarket grip.

I love the marriage of old school single action aesthetics with modern features in this gun, namely the swing out cylinder and double action firing. Revolvers by Colt and S&W and many others have such a blocky frame and so many flat surfaces with similar design features. To the uninitiated, they all look alike, and even if you’re familiar with them, it’s not hard to set aside their specific tiny differences and see they still look alike! Meaning no offense to Colt and S&W and their fans considering their impressive histories and reputations, but I really wish they differentiated the general shape of their wheelguns in history so they’d stand out from each other a bit more.

Zinc alloy, probably not available in Illinois. But would make a great carry gun for recoil shy person. Double action for fast attitude adjustment. 22mag even more so.

@@johndilday1846 We can't buy most Heritage 22s and even some 45s. Labled "not for sale in Illinois". I agree makes no sense with polymer frame guns, but thats our wonderful state government looking out for us.

@@johndilday1846 I have heard that there were laws passed in the seventies in certain States Illinois is being won Minnesota being another and there was possibly another state or two but because of cheap so-called Saturday night specials that were popular in the seventies made out of cheaper metals it was kind of a back door gun control law that kept guns out of the hands of people with a low income

Everyone is calling this a plinker but on a ranch it’s a tool. You Can use it for small predators, snake charmers for the rattle snakes and .22wmr is a legit self defense round. Plus it looks cool holstered with boots and hat!

If its USA Made and the street price is around $250 to $275ish, I will be buying one. I just can't see paying more than that for any .22lr revolver because, for me, the value isn't there. For other people that pay $400 to $700 for a 22lr revolver, the value for them is there. That $300 to $400 range is too much for a 'value priced' .22lr revolver but not quite enough for a very well made .22lr revolver.

Well, was thinking about a .22 pistol for plinking, this seems like a winner. Had a hang fire in a single action once, went off when the bullet was thankfully open to the air, and not when it was in the 6'o clock position. Still, would prefer a revolver with a swing-out cylinder to quickly unload if it ever happens again.

9 rounds of 22 magnum always makes for a good woods gun.Also the milled out space in the cylinders so it can be dry fired is a nice touch.I can see this hurting Ruger Wrangler sales much more than Heritage sales since the Wrangler doesn't have the 22 wmr cylinder included.

also the Ruger Wrangler doesn’t have a 9 shot model. But i wonder what the after market accessory shop is going to look for this gun. I doubt that we could use heritage grips on this. but i would look forward to see some fun gimmicky colored grips Like the Old Glory ( Red, White & Blue ) Grips and some other that Heritage has. would Have been cool if we could use the Heritage Grips on this gun.

I'm with you. I've always thought a gun like this would be a great idea. I love the look of the cowboy/ SA revolvers but for the versatility have always gone with DA revolvers. I would also love to see this in .357 with a 9mm cylinder as well.

I have a taurus model 94 snub nose but i cant hit anything with it. I like that diamond back revolver, i always wanted a heritage rough rider or ruger wrangler but that one has nice features, and that price!

Now this one would interest me, for a number of reason 1. nine shot cylinders, 2. larg(er) trigger guard, especially compared to better know makes 3. double action, 4. dry fireable ( if that's a word ) 5, quicker to load and empty, 6. ceracote, etc. I only hope they will have a Canadian Distributor soon too!

Reminds me of the S&W Model 10 design. The other S&W haters said "it's over engineered" due to the 5 features that kicked out the shell's. I think that was 1899. That's a nice combo there, just the right size to.
