River Fishing for Pike! Will they eat this Lure?!

Quick river session, the goal was to try out my new lamprey lure from dod lures but the conditions where very tough so it was a big struggle to get a bite! Did I catch any fish with it though? check out the video to find out!

I tried to get some footage this weekend, I walked literally a whole river system over the course of 2 days. I cast 442 times on camera and not one bite LOL in places last year I was regularly catching pike. Could not believe it, and yes I spent the rest of my weekend counting how many casts I did whilst going through the footage I got.

Dont give up, try some super slow presentation. Im talking 16cm shads on 12/0 offset hook and really slow retrieve or smaller 9cm jerks and hybrids. I have same situation on my waters and sometimes it can last a few days and then you catch 5 in one 3 hour session. Just dont give up

I loved the wellies, i had to show my wife, perhaps a new pair. I noticed that you're not a fan of short cast's, you'll be in trouble if you hook a 20 pounder at that distance, it would be fun though. Great video as always.

Thanks for making these videos! I really enjoy your straightforward approach, and it’s obviously working! I do have a question. Seems like lots of the fishermen who film here in North America make a big deal about direct-tying lures to their line, or at least to the leader. You use a snap,which makes a lot more sense to me. What do you think about the difference (if any) in lure action? Is it a better way for keeping the lure from getting bit off?

Iv only managed to catch 4 pike so far this season, biggest one being 5 lb lol.. Hooked a decent double but got off unfortunately, and spent a lot of money on lures that you recommended. Just gotta keep putting the hours in to get that magic 20 lber 😎. Great content man as always, looking forward to next upload.

I notice you fish with relatively large lures, I'm new to predator fishing and I just want to catch fish regardless of size, do I go with a small lure or just go large straight out the gate? I'm guessing a small pike won't take a 25cm lure but a large pike might take a 9cm lure aswell as a 25cm?
