Aqui esta la transcripcion del video en español: Si su amplificador o amplificadores específicos no están listados en el asistente de configuración del DriveRack PA2, este tutorial te enseñara como optimizar tu estructura de ganancia manualmente. Primero, necesitas asegurarte que cualquier procesador que no corresponda al ajuste de tus parlantes este apagado antes de comenzar este procedimiento. Esto incluye el ecualizador gráfico, compresor, AFS, limitadores, y sintetizador subarmónico. Ahora apaga tus amplificadores. Luego, desconecta tus parlantes y enciende el atenuador de entrada en los amplificadores girando las perillas hacia la izquierda. Consulta al fabricante de tu amplificador antes de intentar esto para verificar que usar tu amplificador sin alguna carga es seguro. Reproduce una muestra de ruido rosa a través de tu mezcladora y ajusta el canal que contiene el ruido rosa a ganancia unitaria (O). Asegúrate de también igualar el botón de +4dBu/-10dBv con el nivel operativo de tu mezcladora. Sube el regulador Master (fader) hasta llegar justo debajo del punto de recorte/saturación. Este es el 0 de los inputs (entradas) del DriveRack PA2. Si no puedes lograr esto con el regulador Master, sube el regulador (fader) del canal individual hasta llegar a ese punto. Si todavía no puedes alcanzar ese punto, ajusta el potenciometro de ganancia (o trimpot) hasta llegar justo debajo del 0. Ahora con tus parlantes todavía desconectados, prende los amplificadores de nuevo. Sube cada atenuador del amplificador hasta que apenas recortas/saturas el amplificador. Luego, bájalos hasta que estén debajo de el punto de saturación. Haz esto para cada canal de amplificador. Apunta o marca esta configuración en cada uno de tus amplificadores, ya que no quieres sobrepasar este nivel cuando estes usando tu sistema. Aumenta el atenuador del amplificador hasta que el nivel apenas empieza a cortarse/saturarse. Navega al Control del Limitador de el DriveRack para el canal de salida que estes ajustando. Recuerda que las salidas del DriveRack PA2 están unidas en estéreo, así que harás esto dos canales a la vez. Enciende el limitador. Configura el “Over Easy” a “Apagado/Off”. Ajusta el threshold/limite del limitador hasta que los LEDs (las luces) de saturacion del amplificador apenas se iluminen. Ajusta los atenuadores del amplificador de regreso al nivel que marcaste anteriormente y apaga el ruido rosa. Apaga tus amplificadores y conecta tus parlantes. Baja el fader/regulador Master en tu mezcladora. Toca un CD de música a través de la mezcladora, y ajústala a ganancia unitaria (O). Enciende tus amplificadores y lentamente sube el regulador Master hasta alcanzar 0 dBu en el medidor de tu mezcladora. Nota que cuando usas una consola digital, necesitas subir el nivel hasta alcanzar aproximadamente -16 dBFS. Esto es equivalente a 0 Bu en un medidor de dBu. Ajusta los atenuadores de tus amplificadores hasta alcanzar el nivel deseado y tener una buena mezcla de “Altos” “Medios” y “Bajos”. Quieres que suene lo mas perfectamente natural (flat) posible. Recuerda que no puedes subir los atenuadores mas de la marca que hiciste, así que debes jalar hacia abajo a las frecuencias mas ruidosas. Por ejemplo, si no hay suficiente “Bajo”, disminuye los atenuadores del amplificador de los “Medios” y los “Altos”. Si no puedes alcanzar el nivel deseado de ganancia, tu sistema puede no ser el adecuado para el tamaño de tu sitio. Una vez que hayas completado este procedimiento, puedes encender el “Auto-Equalizador”. Después de encender el “Auto-EQ”, puede haber necesidad de volver a revisar y reajustar los atenuadores de los amplificadores y limitadores debido al cambio de ganancia en el ecualizador gráfico. También puedes iniciar el “AFS Wizard” (Asistente de Configuracion de AFS) si es necesario.

Hi, when you’ve done the auto EQ then you run the AFS, the machine will cut the feedback frequency, isn’t this like altering the ideal em curve that the DBX PA2 just created? Can you please comment. Thanks

Yes, it does. If all your your mics are behind the main speakers you probably dont need AFS. I rarely use it. If you have a wireless mic running out front it would be helpful. But those AFS frequency cuts are stored in a different place than the auto EQ. If you return to the venue later you can chose to include them or not.

@ DBX, would it technically be possible to use this PA2 as a DB meter ?? It would be fantastic if that can be done by a firmware update and then you can use the RTA mic for measuring the decibels at the dance floor in the venue/club !!!

El procedicimiento descripto no esta mostrando los medidores de la consola, los cuales son sumamente importantes ya que es la primer referencia visual que tiene el operador. Nunca la consola se debe adaptar al procesador, siempre es al reves.

Studio monitors shouldn't require any processing. Certainly not to the degree that this unit provides. The more equalization you apply to a reference monitors the more phase issues you will have.

Dj Mikey T - You would follow the directions exactly as above but wear headphones and earplugs during the "amp" turn up to discover the clip point, as the speakers will produce a high spl during this period.

If the amps are digital and have a limiter where you can set the threshold, gain reduction etc, then you can also do it in the amp. Although doing it in the processor is more convenient since you do it once for all the signal chain. But if the amp is analog where you set the clip limiter with the dip switches, then that limiter would not be enough in most situations.

Not necessarily. But the purpose of this video is to set up proper gain structure thru the system. So that when you see clip at the mixer it is also occurring at that exact same time at the amplifier.

if still relevant, there lots of apps for that try tone generator iOs, I tried mine setting up zero/unity using 1khz tone, perfect and enjoying my clean signal chain plus power and clearer output. PFL=zero, post fade zero, digital processor input=zero, digital processor output= zero, then amp to below clipping point.

Hola! tengo problemas para ajustar la estructura de ganancia. Tengo una mesa XR18 de Behringer, que en teoría entrega +16dbu de salida XLR balanceada. Estoy utilizando una onda sinusoidal 1khz, saliendo desde la mesa y entrando al DBX PA2 con el switch en +4dbu y llego al LED 10, que seria 10dbu. Estoy teniendo una perdida de 6db. Hay alguna configuración que me este recortando entrada de señal en el procesador? No encuentro en el pa2 reguladores de input, si no tiene, es un gran defecto. muchas gracias
