What do you think about BLEACH TYBW EP 35? We all waited so long for Shunsui's bankai reveal! How do you feel about the cut content, and rearranged manga material?

the episode was great, and if we follow the same pacing, then this cour should end at the moment where Ichigo meets Uryu after Jugo finds out he's a traitor.

I can’t believe they left out Chad’s dialogue. He of all people would not only recognize this menacing spiritual pressure but also remember the sharpness of Kyoraku’s blade.

I can understand why they did it, because in the anime Kyoraku’s Bankai isn’t depicted as darkening the area like the manga but represents Japanese traditional theatre. (Which makes sense given the way his bankai plays out) Also the anime’s version renders the sky a bright yellow, so Chad’s dialogue would seem odd. 😂

@ yeah I know but Sado should’ve been the one to mention it was Shunsui’s reiatsu. He should remember what it’s like being cut by him which give shivers down his spine if he looks into the direction. Shunsui can be very playful but also very cold

​@@kwamekuma360 you and I have very different definitions of "bright" my friend 😂. Regardless of color, I think Chads dialogue would've been even more impactful in the anime. With such a fitting theater like setting, someone commenting on the underlying foreboding nature of it would've hit hard.

4:48 Technically, there is one more difference if you own an English Volume 71 that I imagine many aren’t even aware of. In the original release of Chapter 646, Lille says he is the LAST Quincy to be given a Shcrift/Power by Yhwach which got changed to FIRST Quincy in Chapter 656 by Askin. The Japanese release of Volume 71 corrected 646 and changed it to FIRST; however, the official English release of Volume 71 keeps the mistake for some reason.

3:13 Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Shunsui exerting his Spritual Pressure when he said, “I am the Head Captain of the Gotei 13.” They even cut out Lille’s wide eyed shocked expression upon hearing that and instead looked more focused and lowered his eyelid instead. I was kinda looking forward to that part.

Definitely for me the best ep. Va of shunsui had done a great job this ep+ loved the colorings and the japanese stage play yellow atmostphere for shunsui's bankai.Hope in the next ep we pop up with some gorgeous animated sequence and visuals.

What we love about Bleach fights its they are somewhat similar to hunter X hunter, the "more powerful one" never means just physical stats or special ability, or Energy reserves or intelligence and knowledge, its almost always all of afromentioned. Lille vs Shunsui is a good example, great fight though not done.

There was not enough effects to make the scenes thrilling when Kyouraku Identify him self + when he release his bankai + when he is using it because they all appeared like having a normal conversation

Shunsui bankai didn't feel like a theatre play-this goes for the manga too. I wish they spent more time explaining and showcasing the effect of each act in detail.

I think they did a good job representing Japanese theatre. From the sound effects to the swirling brush strokes on the building to the white background with the red paint depicting the finishing move of the bankai.

I love the way they handled his Bankai, but it being anime and not a manga... It just felt different, going more theatre instead of fear factor. Also, the acts went really quickly too

Lille Barro with green seems weird to me. Yes Lille's trademark and partial Vollstandig are green but it will be more fitting if his wings are gold like in the colored manga, giving that divine feels. But since Kubo directly took part, I'm sure this is the best outcome

That's just what his form looks like cause it's supposed to be a biblically accurate angel. I heavily doubt that they'll reveal another stage of volstandig. Uryu still does have his schrift to show off in the anime version though

people are forgetting that it's the dialogue in the manga that creates 85%-90% of the atmosphere especially in black and white art panels. the anime does not need these dialogues when they can just show the scale and effects while being consistent to the underlying framework that has already been established: Gold/yellow is the Shinigami reiatsu color, red for the hollows, blue for quincies, and green for full-bringers. The episode was chilling. Shunsui's dark and sinister nature were overwhelmingly and excellently depicted in his shadowy appearances during his shikai abilities. this was not so in the manga at all.

I think what you’re saying makes sense in theory, but that the anime didn’t do a good job of it. I felt way more reading the manga than I did watching the anime. And that’s just me being honest.

Bleach TYBW episode 35 Don't chase a shadow, Lille Barro's Quincy form and Shunsui's bankai were insane defienitily Shunsui's bankai what's one of the most beautiful and powerful now I'll see why Yamamoto chose Shunsui to be the next Soul Society Gotei 13 head captain and now Nanao-Chan has a bigger role in Bleach too she deserves more respect and screentime too! 😮❤

The bankai didn’t feel how I thought it would. I was imagining a “darker, gloomier” vibe almost Halloween/fall like. Something where it’s cold but not freezing cold just chilly that you get goosebumps. I wasn’t expecting this yellow background it emanated. Didn’t seem gloomy or full of despair to me at all

I agree. The dark vibe it had in the manga gives off a greater sense of power and hype for me. Sure the yellow fit the Japanese play aesthetic, but for a play about suicide and regret I feel like the dark and lonely depiction works a lot better

​@@sejadlulic8377 nah its fine its contrast with the black background, the purpose of the anime is not to be one to one in the art direction with the manga as there is no anime that does that or manages to. The colored manga use copic markers which is nice but its not something that can be replicated in the anime as everything needs to be flat colored for consistency.
