At first I didnt like it. Then when the dub came out I really didnt like it. But then i saw it again and both did good job. Oetsu/everything but/the blade is me were my favorite thing of bleach. Those were chapter's that Cemented kubo and Bleach as my favorite story of all time of ANY AND ALL entertainment. In H.S ordinary people hit it dead on, later shaw shank redemption got me our of my depression, I got clean in 10 after graduation and for 6 months didnt get out of my room,shawshank gave me hope. Now being 30 and understanding that I was never weak,I didnt believe in me. And being happy doesn't mean your never sad or always indulging in "Euphoria " true strength is coming to understand you. Bleach was amazing for me, but those chapter's made me realize kubo isnt a dope designer, he has some demons of his own.

Nimaiya is a fun character. Definitely not what you would expect the creator of the Zanpakuto to be like, but I really like how he was portrayed. Also, his sword being such a simple but deadly weapon is great, especially since so many of the abilities introduced in the TYBW were so complex and conceptual.

I extremely appreciate how inclusive Kubo is. As a black, its so fucking epic that he not only designs black characters spectacularly, but to make Nimaiya the god of the sword is so epic. So many anime make black characters look like jim crow caricatures. Also Ogun and Charon from fire force are also supremely designed.

11:10 Oetsu’s one of my favourite characters, and this is partially why. Straightforward, efficient, no playing around or boosting ego by toying with the enemies. Quick work. One of the worst things is to fade away while thinking “Had I cut the crap, could I have won?” No such thing for characters like that. Cut the enemy down, then deliver your oscar-winning speech.

The way Kubo does this contrast in characters is top notch from Unohana's reveal to Aizen's reveal he just does a perfect job of showing different facets of his characters. You don't see it often enough in writing and I don't think he gets enough praise for it as a whole.

Given that he is the creator of all asauchis, I think it's safe to say he is in a similar position as the 8th Kenpachi in the sense that he is always in bankai form. Additionally, I think he might have the unique ability to take hold of anyone's sword in battle as he is the creator of all blades, therefore rendering nearly all battles a predetermined win.

I love Nimaiya. When you hear of a "blade god" you might imagine a traditional samurai sword-smith type character, but instead we got him. I love the idea of the Zero Division being so laid back because of how ridiculously strong they all are. I just wish Kubo had created a few more Sternritter to be defeated by them or something so at least they'd have wins under their belt.

the usual way was the academy students received a basic sword loaded with asauchi(created by oetsu) in it, they have to spend their time with the sword to merge the asauchi with their inner spirit to properly channel the spirit's power and turn it into zanpaktou ichigo never had a real zanpaktou with asauchi in it because he received shinigami power through rukia in the first place and zangetsu was actually his quincy power and his shinigami inner spirit (white ichigo) was trapped in the ichigo's inner world because he didnt merge with asauchi you noticed that when he grabbed asauchi's hand after his return to soul king's palace..white ichigo successfully merged with asauchi and oetsu forged it into the sword

Unlike ichibei I feel like kubo didn't do a good enough job at showing us the power of the blade god, who should be the 3rd strongest shinigami after ichibei and yama (maybe even above him). Hopefully the ss vs div 0 fight finally gets the care it deserves, it should have been an absolute spectacle of a battle undercarding the greatest fight in the series. I feel like kubo sacrificed the new characters (both ss and div 0) who don't have as much of a fandom as the established gotei, maybe thinking an extended fight between a bunch of new characters wouldn't be enough to carry a volume for the casuals as GREAT of a battle as it could/should have been hence that annoying and overextended zombie and pepe fight taking precedent.

@@brianq6244 I can already see the hates for your comment, but its 100% true, I even hear people telling me shunsui is stronger than oetsu, Oetsu killed the royal gaurds that too he didn't even use his shikai, whereas shunsui shikai lost to robert lmao Yamaji had to go bankai to defeat royd who's not even elite, but oetsu yeeted the royal gaurds even if its pre Schutzstaffel with zanjutsu alone. so basically the ranking should be [only shinigami] ichigo, aizen, ichibei, oetsu, zaraki, yamaji, urahara, shunsui, hitsugaya, unohana, byakuya [end of cfyow not tybw]

Really did a good job of making the squad zero members all seem like they are beyond anything we’ve ever seen before, like they’re all stronger than Yamamoto. Which they’re not, obviously, he had way too much time to get good, at least as much spiritual pressure, and the highest firepower out of anyone except maybe end of series Ichigo, but they are all definitely stronger than pre hogyoku aizen or even maybe early butterfly aizen.

So the zero division are just a whole bunch of problems for me literally almost everything about them is Wrong, their stronger that than all the other 13 squads combined ??? Really? Ichibe I can buy been as strong as Yamamoto as I think their fight would be a stalemate but the other 4 I can’t buy no matter how good the salesman is, we have seen their power level and it’s a joke ied even say some of them aren’t captain level also they aren’t picked for their strength but for their achievements which goes against their power level thing. Then we have some stuff just dosnt fit like if senjumaru shutara made the outfits the soul reapers wear why dose Ichigo’s spirit form just have one by default and it’s made by his reiatsu (but he can still take it off to bath?) as when he gets healed so do his clothes actually same goes for his sword it to just appears when he gets his powers, if they are solid objects that have to be crafted then how are they hidden when a soul reaper is in a human (ish) body, there holes that I would have spent some time thinking about and the easiest answer is they are just part of a soul reaper, it’s just there powers manifested and the stronger the link they form to their inner power the more unique their outfit and weapon gets. Also the timeline is messy people are seen with Zanpakuto and Shihakusho long before the people that are meant to have made them where part of the gotei 13 so bringing up shutara again she was a resent call up like within the last 150 to maybe 400 years and she was a Lieutenant but she designed the shihakusho over a thousand years ago? Did she design it before becoming a soul reaper as that’s the only thing that really fits, it means she was a normal soul working as a seamstress that must have been approached by someone likely Yamamoto to make a unifying outfit to bind them all together (see I’m now having to come up with story’s to cover holes that shouldn’t be their) then later joined Yamamoto’s school to become a soul reaper.

... I'm not harping on anybody in particular when I say this, but Oetsu is NOT the creator of all Zanpakuto. Granted, he's made a lot, and the entire Soul Reaper cast uses the Zanpakuto he's created, but Zanpakuto existed before Nimaiya created the Asauchi, and there are Zanpakuto he hasn't forged himself. Like Ichigo's old Zangetsu or the Arrancar's Zanpakuto.

And it's also noted that Nimaiya's invention of the Asauchi is what got him promoted to the Royal Guard and not the invention of the Zanpakuto. Ichibe also supports this with his explanation that there were 2nd-stage Zanpakuto releases that predate the concept of a Bankai, which presumably means that the concept predates Nimaiya's creation of the Asauchi.
