I think Ichigo explained it himself. He said he'd like to use his powers as he pleases but at the moment, since he just reforged Zangetsu, he could only wake one side up by disrupting it with the other. So now that 10 years have passed, I imagine in hell arc, he can activate both sides powers at once or just use whatever he thinks is needed. Hollow for offense, Quincy for defense, etc

I believe we will certainly get more clarity in the hell arc regarding Ichigo's forms in that final clash with Yhwach. Still it was great to see Ichigo reassure Orihime that he is still Ichigo, a sharp contrast to when he went all out and berserk in Hueco Mundo. Yhwach's admiration for Ichigo's power certainly stems from his obsession with powermongering and perhaps saw a waste in Ichigo not using it as he did in subjugation and destruction.

I could see in the anime they show Ichigo beating Ywach with his bankai, all for it to be the future Ywach saw. This keeps Ywach destroying Ichigo’s bankai, while also showing off his bankai. It doesn’t retcon anything, it just shows the audience what Ywach saw.

Rushing Kubo really did do this scene dirty. The fleshing out of fights that Bleach had demonstrated in the past were forced to really be put aside for all the fights at the end of this arc. Seeing Ichigo push his quincy powers out using the same method would have been a great thing to see during this fight as he swings back and forth between the two like a pendulum. Hollow power is very toxic to quincies so I don't see him using quincy powers against the king of quincies. But I want to see more of it in the Hell arc.

My dream scenario is when the anime gets here, we get an entire episode of true form bankai Ichigo just tearing Yhwach apart - we get an explanation of what the bankai actually does, and see just why it's so much of a threat - for it to turn out at the start of the next episode that the previous one was just what Yhwach saw in the future, as he uses Almighty to cut off that future and break the bankai.

5:35 One thing I'd like to point out here is that Ichigo refers to his Quincy powers as being "inherited from his mother", never saying that his Quincy powers are from Juha Bach. He even refers to Old Man Zangetsu as "the manifestation of his Quincy powers" instead of saying that it's a representation of Juha Bach's presence in Ichigo's soul. These borders that Ichigo draws show that even though Ichigo accepts who he is, he accepts his Quincy powers as having derived from his mother, not as a product of Juha Bach, which means that when Ichigo said "So I used your power as a trigger", he was referring to using Juha Bach's Spiritual Pressure attacks to cause an imbalance in his own soul. This is just like when Ichigo first activated his Blut Vene: the fight with Quilge Opie awakened latent memories within the teen's soul, which allowed his Quincy powers to come to the surface, an event Ichigo is replicating so as to amp up his Quincy powers to force his Hollow powers out in response .

6:46 Looking back on this, I really underestimated how capable of killing Juha Bach Ichigo was. Ichigo learnt how to perfectly pull off that Gran Rey Cero/Getsuga Tensho attack after a mere 5 hours of training and he was already using other tricks to work his way around being unable to control his powers. He didn't even go into Bankai form but he could easily wound Juha. From there, his powers would only grow while in contact with Juha and even just using his true power. If the fight went on as long as Gerard Valkyrie's battle, Juha could easily have found himself on the verge of death. That's why he instantly switched to his Almighty the split-second Ichigo pulled out his Bankai. A broken Shikai can be fixed but a broken Bankai is irreparable. Ichigo was only using a fraction of his power when he halved Juha Bach alongside Aizen, just as Mayuri said that Ikkaku's Bankai was never truly fixed. Edit: this also explains why Juha didn't even bother using the stolen Zanka no Tachi. He knows that Ichigo will outpace and overcome even Yamamoto's Bankai if Juha allowed Ichigo that much breathing room. There's also my personal theory that a stolen Bankai has only a fraction of the power it's original wielder would have using it. Why was it that Chojiro Sasakibe's honed and perfected Bankai didn't even faze Yamamoto when the young lieutenant gained the Soul Society's respect back in his day? I just don't find it logical that Chojiro was that weak even at his best because he was so inexperienced. Sure, Ichigo dispatched him easily back in the Soul Society but that can be put down to being caught off-guard.

Like Kubo told us that Ichigo is capable of changing his appearance and his swords appearance at will where the form of the Horn of salvation is concerned I believe he just put it away and is capable of bringing it out at any time he needs to. Although just from the manga it is hard to see that good thing he came out and said that it was ichigo's choice to change the form of his Bankai to look like his old shikai

What you are talking about 9:15 has already happened and this is the form of the Final Getsuni Tensho / Dangai form. Ichigo in the last chapters of the manga can’t even do High-Speed Regeneration.. He does not have powers higher than those that were shown to us earlier, but rather even less.

So it was revealed that Hell is also used to hold dead Captains, because there bodies' reiatsu is to dense to return to soul society (Not just captains though, it's anyone with the same issue). I dont think Ichigo's power would tip to the quincy side. Shinigami and quincy powers does not mix well, they are polar opposite of each other which is why they are separated into the form of two blades in ichigo's final shikai form. Ichigo's final zanpakuto is not his true zanpakuto with his quincy powers occupying the blade part reducing the potential of his hollow/shinigami powers, his true zanpakuto. However in that form, both powers are in balance and are asleep. Theoretically, Ichigo should be able to bring forth both powers but he has not mastered it yet specially his quincy powers. Activating it requires him to use his quincy powers to agitate his hollow powers to awaken it. Which is why he blindly attacks Juhabach during their fight to use Juhabach's reiatsu to agitate his hollow powers and awaken it. His quincy power serves merely as a catalyst to strengthen his hollow powers.

What I'm saying is its futile to include Ichigo's quincy powers to his zanpakuto, its bot much of an effect. It just occupies space in the asauchi and the balance make his hollow/shinigami power sleep. Without it his zanpakuto would be much stronger and he can use his hollow powers whenever he wants cause he already accepted his hollow powers. He can just use quincy powers with his body like blut vene and volstanddig if he has one.

Really hoping this form gets to shine more in the anime to make up for what happened to his bankai. I want to see him use regular Ceros or combined with Heilig Pfeil just like Hikone did. A combination of all the fast movement techniques before Yhwach activates Almighty would be dope. Maybe also a fusion of Blut Vene and Hierro for a bit of defense. Lastly, High Speed regeneration, this is unfortunately one of Ichigo's most important abilities that barely get any focus and this fight would have been a great moment to show it off. Anyways, I understand Ichigo may not have complete mastery of these abilities but still, it would be nice to see them even if they are not in full efficiency. Narita really spoiled me with Hikone when he did it in the novels, it was such a big missed opportunity in the manga.

Yachiru is nozarashi. Kenpachi is so strong that he manifested her. He never knew her name though so he could never use shikai and bankai which is just one part of it he also didn't want to be so op that he couldn't have fun. It was disappointing that Ichigo never got to dish out his full potential but a minority of the Bleach community appreciate the poetry in cutting his wings so soon. Seeing Ichigo's raw potential just beginning to bloom set Juha Bach's twisted malice and power in stone. He didn't just want to defeat Ichigo and get his mission done, he wanted to toy with and manipulate the 17 year old. Juha Bach's sadism really brought the readers down low, really making us believe that there was no hope. Ichigo didn't even have his powers left. What could he do? What could ANYONE do, especially since we were being hyped up with lines like "They're on the same level" when talking about Ichigo and Juha. Hell, the chapter was named "Salvation" just for us to feel crushed when the second thing Juha did was mockingly toss Ichigo's own horn back at him.

I think ichigo's bankai would have been some form of miracle, disabling or bypassing almighty, such that he would actually be able to kill ywach with one hit(or multiple hits), preventing any kind of regeneration or reality manipulation. If its in anyway similar to mugetsu then yes, he may have lost then and their. Paralleling to yamamoto, whose main power was disabled twice by both aizen and ywach, in terms of raw power, he is in their league. Their hax abilities though is what makes them more winnable.

To explain, after some point in time, people who have hollowfied reach a form where they no longer wear a mask but have hollowfied eyes, this form is the end of the Hollowfication metamorphosis. Aizen and Ginjo also have reached such a form

The mugetsu form he takes looks like yhwach with the long black hair and the red eyes so it should be the form he takes when his quincy reatsu invades his hollow/shinigami side. Horn of salvation is the opposite it´s when you´re overloading with quincy reatsu so the hollow/shinigami side try to take over the quincy one. You can´t have both reatsus taking over one another at the same time so a form that looks like mugetsu and horn os salvation could never be used at the same time.

@Karshin Paheerathan Ichigo can´t swap like he wants in that fight because he himself said " i didn´t have this balance in my soul before i still don´t know how to transform by myself" that´s why he had to use yhwach reatsu to wake up his hollow side. In the hell chapter since it´s 12 years into the future he probably can swap as much as he wants but that´s just a theory for now

There's technically is a answer, this is the end of Ichigo's hollowfication metamorphosis. Throughout the series, you will notice the mask change, even in Tosen and Aizen's fights, their masks and hollow armor started changing. Think of it like a cocoon. By the end of his fight , Aizen reached a form where he no longer wore a mask but still had hollow eyes. Ginjo has also completed the metamorphosis as seen in his bankai form

Well it’s not the end of his hollow powers since kubo said he could hypothetically go resurrection if he trained but horn of salvation is more his arrancar form but in my opinion a resurrection would be him combining with his true Bankai blade and wearing both sides of his power as one also ginjo is basically stolen ichigos top layer of his fake powers

Ichigo Powers now are: his Power from white absorbing and releasing Reiatsu and the normal techniques that a hollow uses, his Quincy Powers tô manipulate reishi and the normal techniques that a Quincy uses, his Fullbring that is the same hollow Power but the Twist is That he can transform in either atire or weapon the Reiatsu he absorbs and the normal fullbringer techniques, his Shinigami Powers that IS his inherited technique from the shiba Famíly together with the normal Shinigami techniques.

Ichigos bankai being broken instantly is a sign of how much the quality dropped with kubo being rushed. “It was too powerful so I deus ex machina-ed my way into the future to break it.” It was right around this time that it was said that kubo had less that 10 chapters to end to manga. A true season 8 moment for bleach.

They broke it on purpose. I reckon it does something different from the original Tensa Zangetsu. They don’t want us seeing it yet and they wanted to show how overpowered Yhwach was

I think it is possible and even more i think he can give himself a shrift just like yhwach gave himself and others since ichigo gave powers to chad and orihime at the begining when he was a lot weaker

As much as I hate that yhwach broke ichigos bankai as soon as I saw it I can’t deny it wasn’t a good move if ichigos power was so massive and can possibly beat yhwach the smart thing would be to get rid of it as a villain but damn I wish he didn’t

I'm of the belief that Kubo was too pressured to finish the manga or had limited resources and wasn't able to fully describe what he wanted. It is very clear Kubo is a mastery of story telling and this anti-climactic moment, which should have been the best in the entire series, Ichigo's true bankai, was not his intention and was probably forced upon him. I'm hoping either in the Anime, or in the new Hell arc, we'll get a proper display of Ichigo's true bankai. The one Byakyuya hinted at during the first reveal of the false bankai.

I definitely agree that the ending of the thousand Year blood War arc was rushed, but I don't really have a problem with Ichigo's Bankai being broken so quickly. Because, if Yhwch & his Almighty are as OP as they seem, then it makes sense. The fact that he got it back & defeated Yhwch so quickly, was what was rushed in this case, imo But you're totally right, we definitely need to learn more about Ichigo's new Shikai & Bankai, and about his powers in general, including the Horn of salvation
