They took away her jester suit, put her in what looks like a bathing suit and splashed cotton candy colors on her hair. It looks awful and nothing like a Harlequin.

April Fool’s isn’t about doing silly or dumb things. It’s about tricking people. The way they could have done an April Fool’s is to release the Fartacular solicit on April 1, let people believe it then later reveal it was just a joke and there is no Fartacular book but instead a legit Harley Quinn ongoing. That way they’d be pulling an actual April Fool’s prank AND marketing the new REAL Quinn book.

If DC can be counted on for anything, it's for not publicizing their best books, and pushing their monstrosities to the front of the racks. Batman and Robin: Year One and Batman, Dark Age have been excellent so far, but no news on those. Hard to say how they make their marketing decisions, but it seems very haphazard.

This is just hideous. It reminds me of that similarly grotesque independent comic book M.O.M. (Mother Of Madness) that was written by Emilia Clarke. While there have been various other darkly comedic comic books that have come out over the years which are not unlike this kind of low brow toilet humor, such as, for example, the Savage Dragon by Erik Larsen, this is just way too juvenile and sophomoric, especially for a "mainstream" American comic book company like DC Comics. If this had been a parody and/or satire and/or spoof of some kind of absurdist slapstick comedy like Beavis And Butt-Head, with two crazy super-villains who are called Fartknocker and Buttmunsch, and Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy were both forced to play super-heroine because they had finally faced off against two super-human psycho criminals who were even more detestable than themselves, then maybe it might have been a good idea. But this, no...this is just sickness at best and degeneracy at worst. This is exactly the kind of depravity that good people like Jim Shooter had tried save the comic book industry from.

In better news, PKJ getting the chance to finish his story with Superman and Olgrun and the First Gods is super exciting.
