Peak charging today on bz4x fwd le was 92 kw after 2 min at 23% charge. Insane !! Never seen it that high. Outside temp was 6c
@davidp.4727 Жыл бұрын
Nice to see that once the battery temperature goes up the battery will accept a faster rate of charge. I was getting worried that the fastest I would ever see is 37 kWh.
@thekat-dg9fx Жыл бұрын
The Bz4X seems to throttle DC fast charging after the equivalent of charging from low or zero to 80% twice in 24 hours, which would be around 116 kW. Any further DC fast charging in that 24 hours is markedly slower.

It's important to note that it's only the North American AWD models that get the CATL battery - elsewhere both FWD and AWD get the Panasonic battery

Great video and data points. For EV with no battery preconditioning, it will be problem once fast chargers gets crowded. Slow charging means long wait times. Once Tesla opens up more of their superchargers to non-tesla owners, I think the EV fast charging experience will improve as reliability of the non tesla charger are hit or miss. BZ4X I think is really meant for Urban driving and most charging will be done at home. Without the QC rebates, would have you consider this EV? Toyota value vehicle are their Hybrid.

Your doing way better charging speeds compared to me. I live in california. When I went to a supercharger at 35 degree F I got a max speed of 25kw and at 55 degree F I got a max speed of 30kw. For someone who lives in the snow getting better speeds in certain stops I’m jealous
@EVDude Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching ! What I learned from these tests is that you need to charge when your state of charge (%) is very low. Try going to a fast charger when you have 10% or less, I'm convinced you can get over 50kw at 55 F.

@fredericochs1378 Жыл бұрын
@@EVDude it helped to get from 40kw to about 100kw, up to 140kw at the Peak for about 10 minutes, charging 105 KM in that time. Please take note that I charged under the condition of 9 degree C.
