Guy Gardner was maybe the first anti-hero. That archetype wasn't really present in the late 80s early nineties when Gardner was at his peak. He's a very Gen-x type of person, angry, cynical while still making his way morally, even though it is not the typical way...Stone Cold Steve Austin has a lot of his essence

I wish people would stop trashing RR's Green Lantern. It was comic book accurate and the story was like something right out of an issue. They didn't take away and add what they wanted like they do with most superheroes movies and tv shows. Look at Legends how they mangled and mauled the Legends series illustrated by John Byrne. They took bits and pieces from different time periods. The Legends consisted of Captain Marvel, Superman, Batman,Blue Beetle, Black Canary and the forces of Darkseid. None of these were in the tv series. Well Firestorm but they wrote him out. Green Lantern was a great story and movie

I didn't mind Reynold's Green Lantern movie. He made a great Hal Jordon, imo. My issue is the final "fight". Parallax has an actual form in the comics that could be physically fought, so you could have an actual superhero battle with it. Instead, we got "Blobby the Forehead", much like how the Fantastic Four Silver Surfer movie reduced Galactus to a purple cloud.

Guy Gardner actually debuted in Justice League of America, made for tv movie in 1997...... Although, he is more like Guy after being punched by Batman in Justice League #5 (1987 ) and becomes an annoyingly nice guy.

Gunn is an absolute hypocrite. He states he wanted to chronicle Superman in his earlier years (hence the excuse not to be able continue with the existing canon and Cavil) and yet uses a character that comes along a lot later in superman’s “career” ie once the justice league has already been formed and that there are two other green lanterns and also uses an actor who is as old as Ben Afleck!

Why isn't anyone talking about Lobo? Jason Momoa is the perfect pick, and he was in talks with Gunn about a role. I think that he may be a surprise character in this version of Superman. As for Fillion becoming Guy... it might just work for that character... but he looks like a dork. I guess Nathan will have to compensate with good acting skills. I'm no fan of Gunn's other movies, but I'll reserve judgement until I watch this one. I so want a follow up to the Snyderverse Justice League movie. There was so much there... there. We got a glimpse of Darkseid... and witnessed a brutal execution of Steppenwolf. We have been robbed of a legacy that could have been one of the best in movie history... but instead, we got a dysfunctional movie company making drastic changes to DC midway through and we end up with a Marvel producer at the helm of Superman on the heels of one of the best versions in Henry Cavill being given the boot.

I will never go see it because of how Gunn has treated Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot etc. DC was always dark until the 70's and became campy and went down the toilet, the dark Snyderverse was perfect to salvage DC, Gunn is the opposite of that.
