Not sure if there will be proper payoff down the line but for now, Ram V is definitely cooking with gas. He may be able to do for the New Gods what Kieron Gillen did for the Eternals, make a ponderous over-serious Kirby property a compelling read.

whatever. writers for DC LOVE to bring back Kirby's New Gods every 10 years or so to be put through another "corruption cycle" and tear them down. One cycle it was Lightray, who got put in charge, became a meglomaniac, and wound up residing in New genesis's first insane asylum. that was a couple of universal reboots ago though, i think.
