I’m convinced that Hollywood doesn’t realize that people are smart enough to tell the difference between fiction and reality and are scared of someone being violent in real life because of it. The last villain (toned down) in a superhero movie that i think still embodies what people looked for was akin to Ian Mckellen’s Magneto. FFS can’t we just get someone that isn’t a bond level of stupid? Where even adults have trouble piecing together the character’s plan? Answer: Nope, not currently possible with Hollywood being out of touch with the audience, and writers not being competent enough to make someone smarter and crueler than a Scooby Doo villain.

The hell with all the bad mouthing. I loved it. idk. Nowadays every one just want to be a critic, and just forgets how to let themselves be entertained. I want a super hero movie where the characters and villains do fantastical things, and the movie delivered on that. . This was a full on action flick , some great gory kills. The climatic fight with the Rhino had great choreography. We even got a glimpse of Calypso, thank goodness was not just some plastic looking chick throwing sassy one liners. It felt like an old school Super hero movie with out too much humor. Something from early 2000's. No convoluted plots. Just a good old fashioned rescue and retrieve mission. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the perfect guy to play Kraven. Even Russel Crowe was pretty good as a Russian mobster. That being said I did have a couple negatives. One, and it's the biggest for me was that Kraven didn't wear the classic comics outfit with the lion mane. He barely gets it at the end. Another was the Rhino. I didn't buy into his character, nor the look. He looked cool during the CGI fight scenes, and they kept his real name, but his origin story sorta fell flat. Also he seemed to act like John Malkavich when he wasn't the Rhino. Also ,obviously the Rhino doesn't die in the comics fighting Kraven. I hope Sony swallows their losses and has the balls to do the sequal. If not? Give to some other studio, but I wanna see part 2.

@@MrMrjack18 Well, everything is relative. Pirates has always been maguffin stuff, sort of like a point+click. The first one was fun and had some good stuff in it, but let's not pretend it was ever some postmodern Dostoyevski or something in terms of writing. Moderately interesting characters + drama + maguffin = a movie. Good movies have always been a rarity. It's just even more rare now than it used to be. But trust me, trash was written, filmed and released in the 70s as well, never mind in subsequent decades We've just forgotten about that trash by now and only remember Kubrick and things. Our only job is to sort through all the trash and make sure we forget it in a vain effort to reduce the amount of trash being churned out, and also, if poss, to rant and rave the rest of the time about anything good that accidentally gets released despite the best efforts of Harvey and the Couch. It's the same job we've has since the invention of movie projectors. Let them get away with trash = you will have more trash. That's why it's important to sort through trash. For me Pirates is firmly in the 2003 trash pile. Maybe not the radioactive trash pile I generally use today, but certainly trash.
@Wilfer-hc5fjАй бұрын
I actually liked it, yall have to understand this is the backstory+ the come up for Kraven him finally accepting who he is setting up a good future for the character, could it have been better yes but doesn’t mean it was a bad movie the plot has the same logic captain America first mcu was backstory and acceptance of new identity just like any other hero anti hero or villain , also venom isn’t evil in comics his character development always been anti hero like his arc focuses on his internal struggle with his identity, rejecting his father’s brutal worldview initially, and eventually coming to terms with his darker instincts. This journey sets the stage for the ruthless and calculated Kraven fans know from the comics. If he gets a sequel, it’s natural that his character would evolve further into the more savage, determined hunter that fans expect. A first appearance isn’t meant to show a fully formed villain; it’s about understanding how they become that way. This approach adds depth and makes the character more compelling. But the beauty of his story is in that ending, where he finally accepts the truth-that he’s not entirely good, and in many ways, he is his father’s son. That acceptance is a turning point. It’s the moment he realizes he’s just as ruthless, and it sets the stage for a more complex and potentially darker Kraven in future stories. This is the foundation. Without this moral struggle and evolution, Kraven wouldn’t be as relatable or layered. It’s what makes his character compelling-he’s not just a mindless villain doing evil things for the sake of it. He’s flawed, conflicted, and trying to figure out his place in the world, just like any other great character. The ending didn’t just close his origin story-it opened the door for the Kraven everyone expects: the cunning, brutal, no-holds-barred hunter who fully embraces his nature. The journey to get there is what makes it satisfying. If people can’t see that, they’re missing out on the brilliance of the storytelling.

I was excited for this when it was first announced because Kraven was cool in insomniacs Spider-man 2, but the second they said that he's isn't a big game hunter but is someone who loves animals and killed poachers, I instantly knew that it would be a disaster. I get what they wanted to do with it, but that's not Kraven the HUNTER.

This was a missed opportunity to not use Kraven to fight the MCU Spider-Man that will be one of Peter’s Greatest Fights of Survival, instead we got another spinoff nobody ask and Theaters are making the smart choice and it kills this Abomination of a Universe, sadly for now, I feel like I might have been too harsh on Spider-Man 2, the Game has Flaws but Kraven was one of its Redeeming Qualities because the Thing about Imnsoniac Kraven is that he’s the most Accurate and Darkest Version of the Character, he rather died by a even powerful enemy than a Human Weakness such as Cancer or even his Family which he had Killed by the Way, his Wife and even his Children, while it’s unclear if one of them survived, one thing is clear, Kraven lives in the Hunt and enjoys being a Predator, he’s literally the Embodiment of Savagery and Animalistic with Zero Human Qualities, Peter is the Man while Kraven is a Monster.

I really like Aaron Taylor Johnson as an Actor but even he couldn't save this movie. I walked out half way through very disappointed and baffled. This movie makes me genuinely believe Hollywood is dead and the main goal is to make people as stupid as possible by pumping out nonsense.

This could have been good IF they had used some of the Manimal and Secrets of Isis tropes. By showing an eagle as an overlay when Kraven uses his distance vision, or his body shape shifts to become more muscular and rugged when he taps into his inner rhino. Things like that would have helped.

Even If you are really thirsty for Aaron Taylor Johnson (understandable 😊) this movie is not worth it. In fact i think that there is many other movies and a music video where he shows way more than here if that is what you signing in for. Dude is not shy. Bottomline, this is just another C+ comic book movie just like Morbius, only with gore instead of memes.

The problem is, you can't do a Spider-Verse movie world without Spider-Man. Morbius and Venom weren't great but worked because they were their own entities even though they have direct ties to Spider-Man. Kraven and Madame Web cannot work on their own because they need Spider-Man to lean on.
@robmclean4352Ай бұрын

You sold me at "magic lion blood." Now I HAVE to watch this movie! On Putlockers. And the biggest problem with Spider-Man (and Batman) is that his rogues gallery is too big and extensive to ever really work as movies. You'd need a Spider-Man television series to properly do them justice, and the series would need to run for at least four to five seasons. That's why I've never liked the movie formula of "introduce a villain and kill him in the same movie." Trying to do this with a villain movie universe is even dumber.
@potatosama666Ай бұрын
I wish the movie was more like a villain origin story rather than an antihero. Just like the last hunger game was with President Snow origin story. Like at the end of the story, we could’ve seen Kravrn become a full on villain.
