The STI both out cornered and out accelerated the Honda. He also left large room between him and the cars in front of him and in turn often braked much earlier and lighter. The capability of the cars alone nods to the STI, but the driver was driving much more casually. Still, I have big respect for Hondas, and they can and are extremely fast. Honda has some of the best sounding and highest performing 4-bangers on the planet, and they know how to make light chassis. Even their Civic, of every generation, is one of the lightest 4 door sedans around. Their old Integras and CRXs are rockets in the right hands. Yet, in this situation, the STI was sizably faster and only driven slower, mainly due to huge allowances for traffic in front of him. Still, good driving and way to wring out the DC5's performance.

The sti was barely trying, not braking deep into corners, backing off the throttle way before braking. I like my hondas too but you can clearly see the subie is barely even pushing the pace. Honda driver is clearly pushing his car.

Would say he was trying and pushing it he just wasn't as good as the dc5 driver. The subi driver was good at corner exits for sure and that's the biggest advantage for the 4wd more traction coming out.The biggest advantage for the FF is late breaking which you see in this video and the FF struggle to get traction on corner exit due to well turning and accelerating =loss of traction.

hmmmm questions to ask yourself ...1 does the subi have a passenger ? 2 is the subi boosted ? 3 is the dc5 stock? if the answer to the last question is yes then he would have to push his car to keep up knowing the facts that we can see .

It's not the car. It's the driver. The DC5R has been keeping pace with the Black GDB STi. But at 1:50, they catch up to a blue WRX (without a wing) and a blue STi (with the wing), both roughly the same vintage as the black one. Both pass the WRX shortly afterwards, but the blue STi leaves them both in the dust. The DC Integras are decently balanced. But the Impreza STi of the same vintage are faster off the line, faster out of the corner, and have a bigger top speed.

yeah....the honda was driving BALLS OUT just to keep up with the STI. The subbie was basically just having fun and cruising through, NOWHERE near its limit, while the DC5 is squeeling through every corner.

@rooboy69 From the lines/speed/brake point of the scooby its obvious that he wasn't really maxing out..Perhaps only 50% throttle most of the time. Sort of like GO/No Go/Cruising type. Waiting for friends maybe :)

You can't tell what performance upgrades they hasn't from looking at there cosmetics. Even if it is stock an Sti makes almost 100 more horse then a dc5. Comes down to a good driver

SpLeNdidV8 Being at a track doesn't mean he was a skilled driver. The STI could easily leave the Integra behind on a track like this. But he was staying behind a couple cars and he wasn't pushing the corner entry as hard. Which braking points is one of the hardest parts of racing.

Funny how people cant admit that the integra is well balanced car, power doesnt mean anything. Ive seen an 86 corolla beat a gtr and both were professional drivers. It all comes down to having a well balanced car.

The Subaru easily had you in the straights and corner exits... the games changed when it came to the actual corners entrances & breaking into the tight corners, in that case the Integra was quicker from what I seen. Give it an extra 50hp and it would match the impreza in the straights.

Driver subaru tu tak berapa berminat kot ngan dc5. Sbb nampak subaru tu relax sgt, tak agresif mcm dc5.
