Hawkman isn't a good idea, they don't even know how to do him in the comics and he's from the golden age. Booster though, Booster could be one hell of a fun time. The Protagonist there just giving the go to so many DC projects also not giving these projects time to have a solid script and concept earning a green light. Not the current way where they want this movie about whatever and just grab whoever indie director to helm a $300 mil film. Nonamearisto Ragnarok did a good job with the Kirby esque visuals and aesthetics but he’d probably turn it into a comedy. There’s a good video tutu there explaining how Black Panther was what Ragnorak should have been. We need someone to take the Fourth Wold seriously and make it like a LoTR movie with respect to the source material, focus on story and characters, and deals with the greater themes the source material had while constructing a lore rich world.

The only issue I have with talking about unemployment rates is they do not take into account people who have stopped looking for jobs. Those who have given up looking for jobs are not counted among the Unemployed for some stupid reason. Also the unemployment rate has been falling at a pretty steady rate for several years now.

My condolences to DCEU fans. I have no doubts that DuVernay has the ability to be a great director and storyteller. Unfortunately her politics just makes her work divisive and unpleasant for general audiences. It's why she has yet to have a real hit on her hands.

We are entering an era when Directors are hired on the basis of their profile rather than any other factor. Much as some actors are hired, not because they are great actors, but because they have a high profile that will bring publicity to the project. So it is becoming with Directors. There is a "buzz" around Ava Duvernay and the studio is guaranteed a ton of free publicity. Whether they are guaranteed a good movie is another matter but Black Panther and Wonder Woman have shown that if you can hang the "diversity" tag onto your project then the media will obligingly offer up buckets of gushing coverage. That doesn't mean the film will be bad (as BP and WW showed), but on an artistic level it's not the right reason to hire someone. I predict that we will see a lot more of studios short-shortsightedly hiring women and minorities regardless of talent in order to try and tap into the "Black Panther factor" of uncritical media hype.

they need to forget that BvS and Justice League ever happened. they can go on and make Man of Steel 2, and Wonder Woman 2, keep they castings of Flash and Aquaman and make those movies, but make them fun, and not brooding. they need a new Batman. they can keep the guy who played Cyborg, but they need to rethink that character’s concept in this film universe... and lose the dark and desaturated camera filters...

I really have no idea how this is going to go down. I am one of the few people that still has hope for the DCEU as I actually have enjoyed all the DCEU films. She could be a good choice because the whole dynamic between New Genesis and Apokolips is very political. 10 bucks that Granny Goodness will be transgender.

Reminds me of that current online advertisement featuring Judd Apatow teaching a course on filmmaking. In it he says, "We need comedy now more than ever because life SUCKS!" If you know Apatow's politics, and how can you not, he, like Kimmel and Whedon, is openly and tirelessly anti-Trump/Republican/Conservative, so you know what he's referring to. Exactly how does life suck for Judd Apatow, a rich & famous film director with an attractive wife and two healthy daughters? What am I missing? In his Netflix stand-up special, he makes some crack about his own physique or something, to which a woman in the audience goes, "Awww." His response (met with cheers and applause): "No, no, it's okay. I'm rich." But yet . . . life sucks. Whatever, Judd.

I guess Time Warner is making the right decision in selling WB/DC because they're tired of the BS with them. And because of this Ava DuVernay news, I am done with the DCEU. I just hope the MCU doesn't make any bad mistakes in the coming future.

I go to the movies to escape from every day life. I'm sick and tired of having SJW politics thrown in my face in the movies. I hear enough of that crap in the real world and Hollywood needs to be put on notice this is not going to last. When you start sacrificing story over your own politics it's not going to work!!

Directing a DCEU movie is not failing upwards. She will just be adding a steaming pile of poo to a already larger pile of poo...Green Lantern, Justice League, Suicide Squad, etc.

People like her don't change. What could have been the greatest movie of the DCEU is going to be SJW trash. We all know it. As a person who's loved the DCEU, I'll finally be feeling what everyone else has been once this movie comes out. It's a crime that she'll be ruining Jack Kirby's creation. If I could say anything to her, I'd let her know that there's a whole group of people (comics fans) that'll never forgive her. Maybe WB is committing suicide by getting her, but she will be too after this bombs. I don't know who I'd get to do a film based on a comic which is pretty much Shakespearean in nature. It just pisses me off, if this is final, that even though we're FINALLY going to get a live action New Gods movie, it's all going to go in the shitter.
