My ex shared this song with me and put it in our favorite playlist on Spotify when we were both in New Zealand. But I had to leave earlier than her for Taiwan, my country. And we broke up when we were physically apart. From that moment forward, this song has been the song that reminds me of her and our time in New Zealand, enjoying our adventure with our Nissan Cefiro. The saddest part is that we haven’t and never will see each other in Taiwan even though she’s back in town now, which makes this song even more unique. I love this song so much. It’s a box that contains our memories. Even though it hurts everytime I listen to it, it brings me those beautiful pictures back on my mind.

I seriously love this band more than any other band in the world. The lyrics, Ben's voice, the depth, the music... just everything! One of the most magical moments in my life was watching them live. I always say, I would marry Ben in a heartbeat. Not because he is famous but because through his lyrics I feel that he is the most amazing and real man I have met even if it is through the connections with his music and my soul. Two nights ago I was on the passenger seat, doing exactly the same thing as the song describes and listening to this song as I was going home from Redmond to Everett WA. Thanks for sharing your memory... I'm learning this song and working on a cover to record and give to my wife for our anniversary next month. We moved from Ohio to Washington for the sheer beauty of this state - and we're never leaving, it's our kind of paradise. But yeah last autumn we went to a music festival in Walla Walla, WA - and the first day we were able to move into our apartment was the day after the festival ended (we stayed for a month in an RV airbnb to get our feet on the ground). We were so tired but somehow we made the drive to Olympia from Walla Walla leaving at 1030pm. Anyways, she did most of the drive and this song fits the lyrics just as your experience does - passing through the silhouettes of the Cascades, the moonlight flooding the landscape, and of course the strong scent of evergreens. We got back and moved into our empty apartment and slept in our sleeping bags on the carpet in our new home :)

The song is my absolute personal favorite out of all of your songs. The reason being is as we all feel sometimes every once in awhile it almost feels like a song was written just for you. I feel that way with the song even though I know that you don't know my life story but this song verbatim was my life with someone that I loved unconditionally but couldn't reciprocate or wouldn't, he never really told the truth about things. I miss him more than anything. I miss being in his ranchero. The smell of old car. The erratic driving because no power steering. The wonderful conversations and the beautiful time that we spend together. Then, one day, he ghosted me as if we didn't share years of a very intense bond. Even though he claims to be heterosexual he's the one that led me on whereas I just wanted to stay friends to protect my feelings. When his own Mom saw how he treated me when my friend was away she took me aside because I had known them for years at this point and she straight up gave me her blessings to be with his son in a serious manner. Even though he couldn't reciprocate those feelings in completion I will always cherish the good times I had with him and her really don't think about the bad. And my heart still sings knowing that his mother and father view me as kin but I'm no longer welcome over there because of my ex soulmate. Like legitimately, I would have married him even if that meant no sex and minimal physical contact. I loved him so much that even if that couldn't be I still would have been with them. But again, this song hits me in my heart every single time I hear it. It's the last happy memory I have with him. Wherever you are in the world now Victor I Will Always Love You.
