DCI actively working to uncover the circumstances behind the helicopter crash

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI has launched a probe into the circumstances that led to the helicopter crash that killed the Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla alongside nine other military officers in Kaben, Elgeyo Marakwet county. This comes as witnesses of the fatal crash gave their accounts of the Thursday afternoon incident that left the entire country mourning the gallant officers. Members of the public working on a nearby farm were the first respondents to the scene of the accident.

Air crash investigation should be led by air crash investigators, and especially from the manufacturer of the crashed helicopter. This will provide credibility to the investigation.

DCI investigating KDF plane crash? Huku Kenya surely, if indeed they are such super intelligent to know what KDF failed then KDF would have stuck to their external defense and leave Police to handle internal security. The constitution of the investigation team should be made public together with their credentials and their terms of reference. It would actually help matters more if experienced aircraft investigation personnel from other countries together with those from the manufacturers of the ill-fated chopper would be involved. Otherwise, it's all an exercise in futility whose outcome is predictable.
