The weapon changes were already on the way. I remember Bungie saying that more sandbox changes were on the way before the 7.5 was released.

Destiny players can be sorted into groups. Players that care about pvp, and gun play. Build crafting cats, the hard core raid crowed. The Lore crowed. These players while caring about the game on the whole tend to be Lazer focused on a. Few sections of content. Now in-between all that. There players like me. Who cares about things, like patrol zones, social spaces, venders, and mpc's. I care about the end game , quality of life stuff. And for me a new social space is a Must! It's a boon. Socials spaces are one of my fav things about D1. They are charter's in there selfs. They tell their own stories and help us visualize the universe. Maybe you guys forgot that. Seeing on how the Last 2 social spaces we got turned out to be A dirt Lot Farm, and a tower themed weekend flea market! And that there was nothing to visual or interactive about those spaces. Nothing very memorable. But the Reef, The D1 tower has areas you would just go visit because they looked amazing. No matter how long you played the game. The speakers room, the courtyard that opened when salden came. The vanguards area. Then agein the Way you guys talked about social spaces on here maybe you just fall into one of those cataloguerys listed above. Some people's areguments are there so many other things to be worried about in destiny social spaces psh.. not even in my radar. I respect it. But I care about world building. And the future of the game if there is one. Social spaces are part of building out that universe. Gun play is always gonna be fun play. Nerfs, buffs, recycled weapons. I can't bring my self to care to much. That cycle is never gonna get better. But social spaces, building a better in game economy. Building a better market system and vender system. Making venders matter agein in the week to week month to month equasion. Like they did in d1, with factions, and with giving vanguard leaders armor and weapons and unique things you can buy from them. Strictly for that class. Making the gunsmith interesting, with things like arms Day, and emblems and shaders, adding interactive things like a shooting range, or a arcade space where you can play mini games in game like Galaxian, with hive worm gods, or space invaders, . Or adding a star wars style cantina, and no some diet shack the spider calls a club, but a place where you can go emote dance, or that they can do in-game events, like have famous guardians give speeches, or play music, or where you can go to get hot gossip about secrets out there in patrol zones, and in space. Doing the tribute Hall we deserve Star wars Jedi temple style. Instead of the hideous gold plated cabal nonesense. Giving us a real futuristic star wars blade runner, 5th element kinda vibe we been asking for. Games like mass effect 3 have done things like this to great success. It adds such a whole other level to things out side of gun play. The game matters our side of Kd's and raids. And what the new meta is. Seems like that's all I ever hear streamers talking about. But I hear people in game . Who are in it alot more. Talk about wanting a lot more then that. And expressing. That the game is failing in a lot more ways then just recycled content and lack of pvp maps or nerfs to weapons. Real fans want to see the universe grow, at means adding new things like social spaces, new Friendly and new enemy races. Armor 2.0 , skimmers Hell even New classes of guardians . If they really wanna make waves that should be the next big thing. I'd be willing to pay a lot more for big DLC , with a new guardian class, then I would 2 or 3 new pvp maps. Or 1 new planet. And I don't mean the lame " hive or fallen or cAbal" style guardians pp with no imaginations are always saying it would be cool to see. 😂 I mean would it? 🫤 Or would be it cool to be introduced to a whole new Race of alien huminod friendly light users. That adds Massive lore potential, and a whole new ways of using the light. Where as we have seen the copy paste b.s Bungie has done with the hive. If you ended up with a hive guardian. There supers would look just like our own. But a whole new Race ... Maybe they use the light and dark in different ways. Plus hive and cabal and fallen are huge. I feel like pp never think that of how that could not work mechanic wise. Anyway. Yay for new social space. I'm juiced for it

Biggest issue with the activity is that right now the community is looking for “newer” spaces. Such as the area of the last mission of the old campaign or the social space used for the travelers reawakening.
