It appears that you were so excited to use the new toy that you didn't bother to put on your shoes... I get it though lol. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. It's guys like you that help many of us with product research before making the purchase 👍 So Many others are actually endorsed by the manufacturer of the product they review. Your reaction to how the tool performed was genuine. Thanks again, friend.

Hello R! LOL, I feel my mom has been an influence on my lack of shoes : ) I have been called out (not son nice ways) on 'not being safe' in the shop. You were one of the nice people out there and thanks. For this particular tool (and general DeWALT tools this far) I was quite pleased with a battery operated unit. One of the things I like to do is open a new tool right out of the box and just go for it. You get to see my general observations and reactions, and first impressions. While I don't have a ton of use out of it, I feel it will do the jobs that I would have in mind for it. Mind you I own the 6" JET joiner, and that is hard to compete with

Thanks for your comment. What type of work do you use this unit for?
@jeffbradley87833 жыл бұрын
@@StevenLarkin mostly to shave down external and internal doors. Being cordless helps significantly during long passes. 😀

that little thing is amazing! adding this to my wish list now. Is it still holding up well and do you find yourself still using this tool?
@StevenLarkin4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a little powerhouse of a tool! I still use it and it is holding up and living up to its DeWALT name

Nice review חבר If you could find a way to reverse the head of your clamps you will be more comfortable for sure. Excellent and honest insight thank you חבר
@StevenLarkin2 жыл бұрын
Shalom Friend and thanks for your comments. Not sure what clamps you are speaking about. if the blue clamps, they do have renversable heads. Do you have this plainer by chance?
@MrNfury82 жыл бұрын
Yes so the bar of the clamps is out of your walk area, that's all. I do have that exact model and find it too be an ecellent unit

I watched this video to see what the base plate looked like. I ordered my Dewalt in the UK only to find that the base plates had been badly scuffed and it looked like it had been reground in places, it also looked like it had been used, the guy in the shop said it was meant to look like that! I took it back to the well known shop and they replaced it 24hrs later with one worse than the original one I ordered. Asked for my money back, still want to buy a Dewalt but I'm told they've possibly got quality control issues at the moment.

I am so sorry you are receiving such bad customer service on your end in the UK. I truly don't understand how the company you are working with expects you to return for in the future for more of your hard earned pounds/quid ... Why don't you ordere it directly from DeWALT?

Thanks for the video...it answered my questions but....you clearly didn't read the instructions on how to hold the planer
@StevenLarkin3 жыл бұрын
Holding any tool is subjective to the user. I didn't think much on How to hold the tool. I just picked it up and used it naturally as it fit my needs. That being said I do not have a lot of time behind this hand plainer to date. The most I ever used it in one run was on my "My Porch repairs and upgrades" kzbin.info/aero/PLDUs6Efqhb98OvSKfo0ReO6EqVVyyximJ

Painful to watch... Please, please keep your hand away from the shoe! Use the main handle to guide the planer! NEVER have your hands near the shoe! A lot of guys will guide circular saws that way, but this is an entirely different animal. Have been using these type of power planers for 20 plus years, and they can hurt someone badly. I just wanted to pass that along. Stay safe and Healthy!

After watching the video I saw your concern and I thank you for your cocerne. That was literally the first time I used this unit, and you called it. Thankfully I have not injured myself with it's use. I take great care to keep my hands away from the bottom plate
@georgedavall94493 жыл бұрын
@@StevenLarkin Thanks for the kind and understanding reply, Steven! I’m glad you took my comment in a positive light, as it was meant that way. I’ve seen and been around lots of fellas getting injured over the years, and it only takes a millisecond or two! I even had a momentary encounter with my left index finger on a cheap, Company furnished, portable table saw! So I’m certainly not gonna be hypocritical! If I can maybe save just one injury, it would be great! I gave you thumbs up, changed from a thumbs down. One tip if I may; When planing along an edge of a board, lift before the end, and then come in from opposite way, and you can usually get it even that way, and avoid snipe/ tear out, etc. I draw a line on side or edge of planer, corresponding to the axis of the cutter, so I know where to either begin a cut, or to lift off. Thanks for listening! Please be safe, and stay Healthy in this crazy time we are all living in! 😳😬😁👍✌🏻🇺🇸
