I just played through Metal Gear Solid again, and actually the Chaff didn't stop Liquid from seeing and tracking me when it was active, it just messed up his missiles, which makes sense because those relied on guidance. I had to use a stun grenade to escape his vision once the cockpit was open. Maybe you're just remembering it wrong?

I remembered when I played this game and I grinded zeke so hard that he was nearly invincible whenever I send him to missions. Then, when paz stole it, it was the biggest mistake of my life... I was spending multiple hours on my psp just to beat my goddamn zeke (I maxed him out and everything). My brother on the other hand is so lucky because he was still new to mgspw, so when he got to the mission it took him literally just 20 mins to beat his zeke. T_T

The more fun battle is after this, as you can fight Zeke at any time with the AI boards you collected, the more you collect, the faster, stronger and tougher Zeke gets, until it reaches the point that it makes the Paz battle look pathetic, as suddenly Zeke is moving twice as fast, dealing ridiculous damage and attacking relentlessly, its actually nastier than Peace Walker once you have it fully upgraded. Not as tough overall, but way more proactive at crushing you.

I honestly find this fight to be way more satisfying than Sahelanthropus. The Stealth element was cool in the Sahelanthropus fight. However, I loved how action packed this one was and how you basically use everything MSF has built up to beat her. Getting supply packages, rocket strikes, covers from the rail gun, and the fight atop Motherbase. It was epic and felt like the culmination of the entire game, especially if you unlocked most of the weapons, tools, and items. Whereas Sahelanthropus felt obligatory and not fully realized. Though, it was cool to have a Metal Gear fight with stealth being the primary mechanic. I do have to give credit to Kojima for being able to realize some pretty large scale boss fights on the psp, especially this one. Though, I always prefer to play Legacy Collection version for ps3.

MVG The events of MGSV happen around 1980-1999 (cannot remember the exact date) while the Shadow Moses incident (MGS1) happens around the 2000's , so it would make sense that REX is inspired on Sahelantropus

Is it just me or did attempting to use mother base's guns just make this right needlessly difficult? You have to stand still for so long to do it you just take tons of damage. Ignoring them made the fight do much easier.

I totally agree. I just finished the game yesterday and trying to do that just got me killed every time. Once I stopped trying to do it, I was able to win with relative ease.

This fight is so HARD for me cuz i maxed half of the AI of metal gear ZEKE and has all optional parts. But it became easy cuz of the save and load state.

Idk, Raxa being the first Metal gear makes more sense. It was a prototype, but it was pretty bad. Just like the Shagohod was a prototype of Sokolovs and it was also outdated. And isn't Peace Walker also a metal gear? it has 4 legs sure but it can stand on 2. Infact most bosses in PW are basically metal gears just without the capacity to launch a nuke.

actually we know what he meant by that in MGS3. the Metal Gear concept was first conceived by Granin, a Soviet Scientist. but his Metal Gear concept was rejected in favour of Sokolov's Saghohod. Not content with that, Granin sent his Metal gear design (which happened to be MG Rex) to his American scientist friend, Huey Emmerich. that somewhat explain why Zeke looks like Rex

Also there is a reason none of the msf soldiers come to your aid in the fight. Since jpop is blasting during the fight this is basically a battle between 2 idols and all the msf soldiers that i kidnapped are in another platform , glowsticks in hand cheering for their most favourite idol Big Boss, with Kaz leading the charge. This is canon, my headcanon
