+VTK XTO 1. yes he is credited on no tellin, 6 man, 10 bands, know yourself, and used to. hower he is not credited on rico, which is the only thing meek called him out on in the first place. also, we can't be sure how much input was given on any of the tracks becuase we only heard snippets of the reference tracks. for all we know he wrote the whole thing.
@iamjp19 жыл бұрын
+VTK XTO its a different story with rap though. rap is about your personal experiences, its not the same story as somebody like beyonce or alicia keys, where as long as you're a gokd singer, it doesnt matter. rap is supposed to be you. not only you, of course everyone has a little help hear and there, just check writing credits. but when there is ten people listed, and reference tracks surface where many memorable lines weren't your ideas, ex "running through the six with my woes," which is interesting, because quentin miller is from zone 6 atlanta. when those tracks surface, it's different than a different story.

Kivodah Sampson Oh Kivodah you are so right. Everybody thinks that if your a rapper you had to of come from the ghetto, poor, in to drugs, guns, etc., that doesn't have to be the case. Its the same situation when a writer writes it doesn't mean they experienced it. You have to be intuitive,like a metaphor and having foresight,etc.,etc.,understanding society and besides this world is changing and so is music.I will ad that Drake when he was very young they had nothing. I knew the area before this video of their latest home and it was low rent and not such a nice area. It must of been hard for drake being mixed and it being quite obvious. Thanks Kivodah for your comment.

So many hip hop fans are so weird about money. You get a penalty if you didn't grow up brushing your teeth with your finger in a project stairwell, but you also get a penalty if you haven't been able to make millions of dollars of your music. 2Pac did both, 2Pac also got shot 5 times and survived. But not everyone can be 2Pac, really no one can, and that's what we love about 2Pac. It's not the 90s anymore, we don't need to have every famous rapper grow up dirt poor, get shot, and then become a millionaire. You can come from anything, and become anything...just don't pretend you're someone that you're not. Drake really doesn't do that. "Started From The Bottom" sounds like it's about growing up poor when you view it through a 90's lens. But really, it's just about starting from the bottom in the music industry, going from no one caring that you wrote songs, to everyone wanting to be your friend, and just remembering all of that. "Worst Behavior" is in the same thread. It's about how people will doubt you & ignore you one second, and then instantly think you're the man the next.

It doesn't necessarily have to mean that he was poor. He just started of small and got bigger. Which he did. Everyone has to start somewhere

Drake's career reminds me so much of tupac because they were actors and became big time rappers and they both have a lot of hit songs

The bottom doesn't necessarily have to mean money wise, even though this could be the bottom compared to where he is now. But by "the bottom" it could also mean the journey taken to reach where he is at today. He started by filling notebooks with lyrics as a teen and now his music is heard all over the world. I don't understand why people are so judgmental and closed minded, Drake is very humble compared to artist now in days, and he actually worked on his talent through out time, He's amazing,
