So This video is a longer format then we are usually doing on this channel, I decided to make it so we could Jam pack it with information so in the first part of the video we do the in game of the flight and footage and then we do the group tacview you guys enjoyed from last time and then after that we go over the content with moltar who hosts the SATAL competitions and is a part of the 51 squadron in DCS and he talks us thru some awesome squadron tactics successful things we did and things we can improve on. So I really feel like this video is jam packed with awesome stuff for anyone who really wants to learn this stuff and is just a casual player in DCS/Beginner. I hope you guys enjoy the video and as always thank you for watching and your support on the channel. You guys are the best.

Get Moltar to lead a 3 Vs 3 where you don't know what the enemy are flying. He is Tactically and strategically superior. Would like to see if he could orchestrate in a live theatre. Also in that scenario you need to be the lead on the opposing team, since you have the second best strategic and tactical abilities and we know your combat skills are high. I.e. in order to have balance you need to NOT be on the same team as Moltar.

Just saw this comment, had the same reaction I guess. Russians are known for surviving low altitude ejections. (Ukraine I think had that horrible air show crash where the jet hit the ground and flew through and drug a fence through a crowd of people) kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4PHimN7dtCIl7s Pilot survived though, but he was still seated where the cockpit was pointed towards the sky.. Then there’s another air show crash where the ejection seat from a Russian air craft, ejected in what I’ll call a negative position or upside down almost, but the seat was able to eject out and then back up in a successful attempt to get the pilot out and back up so the chute could deploy. I believe that the pilot survived that as well.

This type of scenario is a great way to illustrate how important managing the BVR and Edge of Visual Range fights are, avoiding WVR as much as possible even when limited to 1990s-era fighters and missiles. When you factor modern AESAs, midcourse-guided BVR missiles that have cooperative guidance, higher bandwidth data links, and everyone with HMS-cued HOBS missiles, the stand-off ranges and threat bubbles increase even more. Now imagine having VLO platforms in high altitude perch looking down with fused sensors data, allowing the F-15Cs to maintain EMCON in this scenario, and acting as AEWAC/ EW, with the ability to do terminal guidance for weapons.

Just came back to watch this one for the 3rd time and only now did I manage to appreciate the value of Moltar's commentsm so VERY glad you took that unusual step of a 2nd Tacview- no shortage of lessons here! Only regret is that no significant attention paid to Nylop's situation. Not only don't know WHY he had so much difficulty tracking the SU's, but why was there no effective response to his reported confusion? I'm sure IF Moltar had heard the audio, he'd have lots to say about a squadron's response in such a dangerous scenario.

Stumbled in here on your channel for no reason, didn't really know why one of your videos got recommended but I've been binge-watching your stuff for the last 9 hrs and have to head of for work now. I've watched 3-4 of your sessions with the french rafale-guy, your Huey vs. Hind thing (funny af, still feel the pain from pretty much constant laughing...) and now I've seen this one as a last one (for the moment!). Love the fighting and the in depth analysis afterwards. Really good work on your side, chapeau! Maybe I will get into this game myself. Never wanted to play stuff like that because I've always said I don't play what I've used to do for work but either my mentality changed a bit or it's enough time passed by now. So until next time!

Love the 3v3. One thing I'll say about the R-27 variants is that after yechnical exploitation of scores of them gained from the East Germans on the MiG-29s, the pK was close to zero, a really POS missile in the history of AAMs. The R-73, on the contrary, was scary effective and pushed a lot of thinking in NATO on the ASRAAM. The US Navy had pioneered AIM-9G & VTAS/SEAM in the late 1960s with HMS in the F-4B/J, but it didn't catch on with the rest of the US air component forces, although the concept was further developed in the AFTI F-16 starting in 1978.

Just one thing, more of an observation: the lead on takeoff sets throttle to 97% to allow others to controll the distance

Love these fights. Unable to qualify for flight training (eyes) I can live vicariously It's been said but I repeat, durn fine editing. Watching the Eagle flight depart I mumbled quietly, "We about to go a-huntin' bear . . "

39:21 you point out the mistakes, but if he was to commit tours the missiles while turning 6G force he could of went cold, but the Su-27 would have spotted him and gun him down. 40:20 That is good performance (Viking 1-1) in the Flanker, me personally would never expose my rear end to the enemy, but he was low to the deck and manage to get the missile off by flaring, which is perfect, but still give up your tail for the enemy which is closing in. Love the video and learning from your interception PvP match keep it up GS.

Solid video. Do you have a video or discussion about your hardware gear/setup for DCS? Curious to know how people are setting up their computers/stations for ease and simplicity for playing. Thanks!

Love your videos. I'm learning so much. My only flight experience is an introductory lesson on a Cessna 152! I play Wing Over Europe sometimes but only with moderate realism. I'm out of my element with legitimate dog fighting tactics. I only have a joystick with a throttle on it. I'd love to get the equipment to do this kind of stuff. It's really incredible how great this looks. Is it possible to play with VR? Also, is there a certian tactical advantage to being over the water instead of land?

thanks a lot man, ya you can use VR if you like, also, the radar worked better over water cuz of less terrain interference, just a better situational awareness picture.

These types of fights are much more enjoyable than the dog fights. This is what these planes were designed for.
