Comme dit Wags dans les premières vidéos, ça doit varier sur beaucoup de moins notamment sur la partie A-G néanmoins je reste convaincu qu'on doit pouvoir avoir des systèmes relativement équivalents, même en moins profonds. HMCS has been around for a very long time. The F/A-18 and F-16 has had it for years. The F-35 doesn't even HAVE traditional HUD, and just uses HMCS. Hell the monocle in the Apache has been there since the 80's.

Looks like a little case of dyslexia or a little carelessness. If that's the worst of the errors, we are really getting spoiled! This is a game-changer, not to mention really cool to be able to play around with and use. As with all new rollouts of updates, I'm sure it will have its share of bugs but this is a great addition, I just hope that at least some of its functionality is implemented on the Hornet and Viper. It'd be a real disappointment if what we have now is all we ever get and it's not to say I'm not grateful, just that the HMCS in the Hornet for AG ops as well as general SA is extremely lacking so far. If ED was able to implement this functionality with the Warthog I see no reason as to why it cannot be done with the Hornet, Viper, etc.

Damn this looks absolutely amazing! Couple questions: Does the datalink work with Link-16 now or is it still the same as the A-10C right now? Does the HMD show weapon symbology and/or Maverick video feed? I think I remember seeing one of the trailers showed a mode that looked like it was superimposing the FLIR video from the TGP directly over the TGP line of sight (kind of like NAVFLIR on a HUD), instead of as a separate video feed, is that possible/planned? Edit: also, how is this displayed in VR? Is it a one eye type thing like the JHMCS, or multi eye by default, and will there be an option to change it like there is for the JHMCS?

L16 is not fitted on any of the active service A-10s IIRC. The SADL can however communicate with L16 provided there is a gateway.

@@Kid574 Indeed. I have always been a fan of the Hog. I own a quite a few modules, the A-10C, UH-1, Hip, Blackshark, Fw-190A5, Hornet, Viper, Combined Arms, and Super Carrier. However I always go back to the A-10C to move mud. There is just something therapeutic about flying a tank killing tank with wings, and doing nasty stuff to ground targets. Is it slow? Sure. Is it glamours? No. Is if fun? Yes. Does the sound of the GAU-8/A Avenger make me giddy? Yes. I am an attack pilot, and you fast movers can go suck eggs.

I first bought the A-10c module from Steam back in 2013, I love the Warthog and while I knew DCS was a hardcore experience I couldn't really break into the sim that well, even with a HOTAS and Track IR (which kills my neck and makes my eyes ache). With the recent 15 Year Anniversary (2023) I had the hankering to want to try this again. I had no idea there was an "upgraded" version, which I simply bought the upgrade to (which was nice) and picked up some other content. Been playing the last week and really starting to feel out the sim. I got a long way to go but I am finally, finally, making headway.

My only question is, I know slewing TGP to specific units, markpoints, friendly SPI's, etc via the HMCS is very useful, but is there a way to directly slew the TGP using the HMCS? Like, lock the TGP field of view to the central cross of the HMCS and have it look wherever you are looking, and then allow the pilot to lock it into an area track and slew it manually from the MFD from there? That seems to me at least to be much more accurate for markpoint creation from higher orbits than just with the HMCS. Definitely gonna give this a run in VR tomorrow either way!

F-16 in DCS uses JHMCS i believe, and this one on the A-10 is Scorpion HMCS, they are not exactly the same, and HMCS is like 8~10 years later than JHMCS

From what I understand it might not be as robust and capable as the A-10 but target designation I'm pretty sure is a thing in the hornet and probably the viper (IRL). I'm just as anxious to hear answers to these questions!

the f-16 is the other airforce plane to use the scorpion hmcs, but the version we have uses the jhmcs.

Hey, Wags. I've just noticed a minor typo in the HMCS page in the MFD at 10:43. When you enter the Stats page, the top off-screen button displays "HMCS" correctly, but when you press it, it enters the page that says "HCMS Symbology". A very minor mistake that should be easily corrected.

@00:32 is this caveat a hint that we will never see similar implementations on the F-16 or F/A-18? I could be wrong but I was under the impression that at a minimum HMD target designation and other HMCS capability (location of wingmen and other assets in operational airspace) exist on those respective airframes. I know they are not as advanced as the A-10 II but I was also under the impression that the HMCS capabilities in the Viper and Hornet are more robust than currently simulated in DCS.

I also noticed your HUD was yellowish instead of green in part of the video. How do you do that? Also wondering is there is a key binding for night vision in the A-10C?

Hi again, Wags. 9:10 I finally started flying the Tank Killer as it came in the last update for the Stable Release version, and I'm having a hard time getting this TGP + HMCS feature to work. Not sure if it's a bug, or I'm doing something wrong, but I've tried many times pressing the DMS Left Short, but the TGP image never comes up in my HMCS. I've tried with both the Helmet and the TGP as SOI, but neither of these worked. Is there anyone else having this issue in the Stable (non-Steam) version? Am I missing something?

Question for you if your still monitoring your video's after this long :) Is it possible to set the on-off of the HMCS to a keybind?.... im new to DCS and always loved the A-10, so it was the first aircraft i picked up. I know i can just toggle the switch for it (found that at least :D ) but currious if there is a keybind somewhere to set it to a toggle/button to make it easier to use considering where the toggle is located. I tried finding it in the controls menue myself but cant :T

I'm having lots of fun with the new laser rockets, HMCS, and new turn ability. One issue, in a "gimbal roll" situation with the original Hawg, I would do a "China Hat Aft Short" to recenter the gimbal. Now that switches the tgt pod to "Laser Search". Outside of switching the tgt pod to "standby" then back to "A2G", is there a quick way to reset ecenter\unroll the gimbal? Also, I was flying the "Hard Quickstart" in VR and it starts you at dusk. As the light fades outside, my right eyeball begins to see the cockpit with a green "night vision" glow while my left eye does not. This causes discomfort at first, followed by pain as it gets darker out. It is terrible! I've noticed that fires on enemy planes have different intensities between eyes in VR and other general issues between eyes with lighting and effects. The clouds in VR are terrible. They have little blobs that roll with your head when close to the clouds, it looks bad. They also "chunk" in a and out of existence at different ranges and angles off-center of your vision, different clouds between eyes. They also need to be fixed ASAP. Finally, white-hot or black-hot IR on the tgt pod has crazy contrast swings that black out\white out the picture if a little smoke comes into view of the tgt pod, even just a little at the edge when zoomed all the way out. You should probably adjust the quickstart to hide these bugs (change the time of day, remove clouds, and remove all the fires\smoke) until they are fixed, just something about showcasing all of your bugs to the beginners jumping into the quickstart seems like a bad idea. Overall it was definitely worth the $10 though, and these bugs will be fixed quickly right Wags?

I especially love the view of the TGP in the HMCS. It's just too bad the TGP cannot be "caged" to the HMCS so that you could instantly see a FLIR view of wherever you look at, and have to settle for SPIs
