Dont forget lads, when you hook on to another aircraft, like he did on to his wingman, you can see what OWN and GROUP ID that flight is on. So if you are wanting to get on someones NET group, you can hook on to them and see for yourself. You can also send them data like the JTAC sends it to you. Once you have a SPI down on a target, HOOK the person you want to send data to, and on the right side of the TAD you will see SEND and their OWN and GRP ID with SEND, click that button, and thats it.

As a new dcs player this video is so helpful I’ve been reading the manual to the ac10 but there is so much it feels overwhelming at times your video is brilliant and makes me understand things a lot easier thank you for your time I’m determined to learn this aircraft your video as helped me a lot in understanding this part of it

Thank you for generously giving your spare time to bring us this information. Forty minute presentation is still much faster than it would have taken many newbies to read, retain, re-read, and stumble through the written version in the manual. Much appreciated!

Another fantastic video! I could watch these for weeks! So much great info, presented so clearly, with excellent examples to back them up. You are a great lesson designer and teacher! Please keep it up!

I'll just reiterate what most of the others have said. Absolutely superb video. I've been learning this aircraft myself recently, reading manual etc., but your videos just put things into perspective. Not only do I learn what a button or mode does but I learn the "why" you want to use it this way. Many, many thanks. Would love to see more...would like to see some stuff on CDU and TGP. Now off to practice.

Thanks for this wonderful tutorial and explanation. I havent been so focused on one thing for 40 minutes since back then in my schooldays ;)

Check out target management video 1, mark points. You have to be in Mark Points mode from the STEER PT switch below the EGI panel, Then its the same keys to cycle as SP's (or the rocker to the left of the UFC panel under the HUD).

You probably know this already, but I'll put up an additional piece of information to that, for others to see: You can delete the red diamond by hovering over it with the cursor and pressing CNC (stands for CANCEL), iirc. Very useful once you've completed the current tasking and you have time to clean up your TAD.
@GazAce7 жыл бұрын
Thanks heaps Gerry and again another awesome and efficacious tutorial. I just wish to ask and I’ll keep this as brief as I can. Towards the end you got some coordinates from JTAC and used the TAD to add MK Point to locate using Hook to Own, could I also enter the same coordinates into my CDU or UFC set as UTM to locate? And finally hook to your Wingman and locating on TGP, I was wondering what benefit this could have and could I do the same with an Enemy AC in single player mode?
@gerryabbott7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gaz for the positive comments. 1. Yes, you can add the coordinates manually, and i find it more reliable, but MP's are very efficient, and less labor intensive. Also the video is about the TAD, not the CDU. 2. Sometimes you might need to keep track of your wing man, if for example you are lasing targets for each other, or in poor weather fog etc to keep track of him. 3. No, enemies won't show up on the TAD, only AC in your group.
@GazAce7 жыл бұрын
Gerry Abbott Thanks kindly for your reply Gerry and that's cleared up a lot for me now. Hey I was using that technique earlier tonight and I really liked it. It's great actually and quicker than CDU I reckon. Cheers mate. TAD is not so scary now heh

One question: When i give my wingman the order to engage any type of target or when i'm flying with other friendly planes. I always see them making small triangles which represent targets. How can i make those?? because the only way how i know to make targets visible on my TAD is by making it a "weddingcake" or by making markpoints.

This is a pretty good tutorial, but you tell people to click "CNTCO" or "cannot comply" when receiving data from a JTAC and to use a markpoint instead. It's much easier to click "WILCO" (will comply), as this will leave the red diamond on your TAD until the JTAC dismisses you. While for the purpose of simulation there's nothing wrong with doing it the way you do it, in the real world the FAC would be quite confused as to why you're reporting that you won't attack the target ;)

@guillaumehamelin30478 жыл бұрын
+OneShotToKill1 Or a waypoint or mark point, or any object we previously added.
@gerryabbott8 жыл бұрын
+OneShotToKill1 been a while, but think all MP's have alphabet letter. So..... once you hit, z old ones get overwritten. Easy to go the an unused area on the map, and click till you get to Z, then come back to the AO, and put new MP's down there.

Video 28:40. TMS up short. But your cursor has to be hovering over a nav point. TMS down gets you back to what you are seeing.
