You want to support real players ... why don´t you play arma 3? I mean of course there is a difference between arma and DCS but that would be the other option. (of course not every thing about the flight simulation is as Hardcore realistic as DCS but .. i think there are mods who fix this to an acceptable degree(?) .

What we need is Steel Beasts for tank warfare, DCS for jet aircraft, X-Plane for bomber, ASW and electronic warfare missions, Arma crossed with Red Orchestra for infantry warfare, modernday Silent Hunter for subwarfare, all as Outerra plugins for the pure scale of it. It would work.

ArmA's engine is pretty anemic when rendering long distances and has only very limited fixed wing options, it's not meant for large amounts of vehicle combat and is mainly a platoon sized infantry simulator at it's core.

I said all as Outerra plugins. Outerra engine. It is pretty big in scale. As in the entire planet. You can fire ICBM's from your sub in the Pacific right onto mainland China to nuke an airbase.

The KH-25L and KH-29L (probably also the laser guided rockets) use Lasercode 1113 on the SU-25T to home in...so if you want to add some Fire and Forget capability to the Frogfoot and got a human JTAC buddy, you can do that. You don´t get a range to target tho...so one might need to estimate that or use the Shkval anyway, at least up to launch. One can get some pretty mean range out of the Missiles if you got some altitude. Tested and confirmed it works. And before someone asks...the Vikhrs are Beamriders, no, it doesn´t work.

Sehr schön.. bis auf die doch recht grottigen Bodentexturen.. da sieht man, dass die Map eher zum Überfliegen als zum Drüberfahren gedacht war.. :) Auf jeden Fall hat mich das Video animiert, die Su-25 mal zu lernen. War mir gar nicht bewusst, dass die bei DCS gratis mit dabei ist. Jetzt muss ich nur noch die Namen der ganzen Raketen und Bomben auswendig lernen. Man fliegt halt so selten russische Vögel ... :)

I have done vids with ram, fractured space. And i have also already annoyed him about DCS, he is not a big fan of modern Jets. But yes, the more the merrier. I hope i find someone to also do CA. Than i could do a mission, or modifie this one, with more air threads and fly CAP with the Mig-29 myself. That would be cool i think, ground units, CAS planes and CAP.

Yes, but Leo 1s are not the only possible thread here. Could also be Leo 2s. (though wasnt in this case) And, in the T55 you dont have a laser range finder. So its harder to get a first hit and more chances for the enemy tanks to shoot you.

There are T-55 modernised with laser rangefinders, ATGM launchers and ERA. With Leo 2s around I thought you had those kind of T-55 heh

I built and played a full Battalion-sized mission (4x Companies of 14x vehicles each) with humans piloting helicopters and choppers, while I commanded all ground forces. DCS:W has a quite powerful engine.

Hi! Just downloaded the DCS and bought the combined arms pack. But cant find out how to use tank. How can u actually drive tanks?? Is it a MOD??

You have to be the tactical commander or the mission needs to have "pilot can control vehicles" selected. You can set both in the mission editor. But i assume it is allready set for the missions that come with combined arms and you can download missions on the DCS website. In order do drive the tank, click on its symbol while in the F 10 map. In the toolbar at the top all the way to the left there is a little tank symbol Click on it to enter the tank.

Estimated armor Values for Leopard 2 A5 and A6 are ~940 RHAe for turret and ~620 RHAe for front hull. A T 90 firing APFSDS from the 90s can penetrate ~650 RHAe at 2km.

I just decided to get the CA module, and so far, I'm loving it! Although I find a few things a bit strange. For example, When I take direct control of vehicles in a squadron, all my Squad mates just stop. They do not react to orders or formation commands, and then I drive off, they stay behind. Any idea if it's a bug or am I missing something? Also, what's even more annoying, is the fact that when I drive a T-90 MBT, I get one shotted, and taken out by enemy tanks, before I can even see them! And I am not talking about Abrams tanks here. I get one-shotted to the front-armor fråm inferior T-72's and even T-55s! I think I have the enemies skill set to Average (the lowest setting)

I play wargame red dragon. This. This right here is a dream come true, however looking up on the price makes me flinch. Not for personal cost, But at how small a community would be able to buy into this to have any 'pvp' combined arms engagements.

Well, it depents, DCS itself is free, so Su-25T pilots fly for free. CA is 20 bucks. But there are sales on the DCS website and Steam often that make that cheaper. So what i and Bis did here costs only 20 bucks maximum (for the person that uses CA). I still hope that they make CA F2P too one day because it would help to grow the community. The Flaming Cliffs pack costs 40 bucks (without sale) and that gets you the A-10A, F-15C, Su-25A,Su-27,Su-33 and Mig-29 A,S,G. Those planes alone cost 10 bucks. Which i might add, isnt more expensive than what you pay in WOT, WOWS ,WT for premium vehicles that are much less detailed. Its only when you go up to the full detail modules that they start to cost 30-50 bucks. But those are EXTREMLY detailed, and still often not more expensive than buying a tier 8 premium in Wot/WoS. And again, i bought all my modules in sales for reduced prices.
